So often in the years since Roush began offering high-dollar upfitted Mustangs, an oft-heard refrain was “when will they start offering custom paint colors”.
In recent times Roush has answered that call with their Stage 3 Mustang Premier Edition. For 2013 they have just announced the latest in their collaborative creation efforts with Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes. The 2013 RS3 Premier Series offers 12 body colors.
In the 2013 Roush Stage 3 (RS3) Premier Edition, you get a choice of a custom palette of rich OEM grade paint finishes as well as painted stripe graphics. Roush says the vehicle also features a wealth of other premium features, including Premier Edition side badges, matching interior goodies.
Keeping this special edition rare, only 25 of them will be built for 2013. Cars are now in production and ordering is already under way, so if you have a special one in mind you should waste no time in getting your preferences locked in. Some dealers already have cars on the way too.
Under that special paint is the legendary Roush Stage 3 Mustang. It gets a highflow front grille and the ultra high flow lower front grille opening, also including the driving lamps with pockets and the new front fascia chin splitters. Adding the rocker panel side splitters, rear fascia side splitters along with the race-inspired, rear diffuser design, rear aero valance transform the Mustang’s exterior into a Roush.
Under the hood is a 5.0L V8 engine with the Roush R2300 TVS Supercharger taking the power to 565 and 505 ft-lb of torque. The Premier Edition is also available with an optional post-title upgrade to 625 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque.
Underneath the car, you get a Roush suspension and wheel package that includes 20-inch wheels in either chrome or hyper black. Standard are 4-piston brakes with Red or Black painted calipers and 14-inch rotors but also offers an optional 6-piston brake upgrade for those looking for even more stopping power as done on the track.
As a Premier Package buyer you also get a few special perks which include two Premier Colored Polo/Golf Shirts, an autographed framed picture of your Stage 3 Premier Edition Mustang, a VIP NASCAR Experience from Sherwin Williams Automotive Finishes that will provide you with 2 pit passes and garage access to the race you choose (Hotel and Airfare Not Included).
Pricing for the 2013 RS3 Premiere Series is a significant step up from the price of a standard Stage 3, and that number is not published, but expect $70-75,000 to start.
