01-25-07: Dr. Moran is a trauma surgeon who took care of Jack Roush after his mishap with a power line while flying his now famous P-51 Mustang airplane in Alabama a few years back. In the time following the incident, the Doctor and Jack had developed a friendship that has lasted over the years.
The good Doctor had given his son a used Trek mountain bike that his sister had been using. The bike was in good shape but needed some fresh paint and a little sprucing up. The colors were more to a girls liking too, his son saying, "Dad, that's a girl's bike".
A good father, Dr. Moran took the bike apart and began to do a garage spray paint job on it when his son balked at the project. So, he called in a favor Jack, asking if his shop could paint it for him. He asked for something a boy would like. He unassumingly said it could be painted with "whatever they had in the shop."
In typical first class fashion, the bike was painted in a high gloss silver with "Old Crow" markings from Jack's P-51 Mustang airplane, giving homage to their relationship. The bike was finished off with red accents and a signature from Jack.
The bike is likely the only Roush modified mountain bike in existence. Dr. Moran shares that the smile on his son's face was priceless.
