This page was created to help clarify some common warranty questions
about Roush Performance Products. These clarifications contain personal
opinion and interpretation, as well as facts and information collected
over the years. As always, your first stop for warranty questions
should be your local Ford Roush Dealer. Your nearest dealer can

What This Means:
The Roush wheel warranty works the same way as any other warranty.
If there is any issue with the Roush wheel within the warranty period,
Roush Performance will work with the Ford dealer to determine the
defect, and replace or repair as necessary. If the defect occurs
or is noticed after the warranty period, the same rules would apply
as with any other warranty - if the item is outside of its warranty
period, it is not covered.
What You Can Do:
To assure you get the best results from your wheels, there are
several things you can do.
- Keep wheels clean
- Remove brake dust often as brake dust can pit chrome surfaces
- Do not use high-pressure washers to clean wheels
- Do not use any solvents or cleaners that are not specifically
designed for chrome wheels.
- Do not use a brush - chrome wheels have a clear protective
coat that can be disrupted with a brush.
- Be careful when using the Tire Gloss products... they are
very abrasive and can corrode the wheel finish if left on
the wheel.
- Absolutely no ammonia-based or acid cleaning solutions
should be used on chrome wheels.
- Dry the wheels after cleaning.
- Apply a good quality car polish to the wheels to protect
the clear coat.
- Inspect wheels and tires regularly
- Be dilligent about inspecting chrome wheels during the warranty
period to assure no defects are present.
- If defects are found outside of the warranty period, contact
a wheel specialist to see if any measures can be taken to
prevent future damage.
- Check the inboard surface area of the wheels to assure there
is no rubbing on suspension components.
- Check tires carefully for any uneven wearing. If alignment
problems exist, there will be uneven wearing on the tires.
Frequent inspection will prevent an unexpected problem. Ford
offers one free alignment per year under warranty if a problem
exists.
Commentary:
After looking at various other wheel manufacturer's warranties,
I found that most I found carry a one-year warranty against defects.
It appears that Roush has stepped in front of this by offering a
three-year warranty on the SM03+ wheels. Be responsible and be sure
to check the wheels thoroughly, especially during the warranty period.
High performance vehicles require a bit more attention than regular
street cars. It is up to you to maintain proper tire inflation pressure,
inspect tires and wheels regularly, and follow through with the
recommended maintenance program. Do not leave it all up to the guy
at the Jiffy Lube. Get intimate with your car for best results.

and interpretations do not necessarily reflect the legal or implied
policy of Roush Performance. Contact your Ford Roush dealer for
any questions or issues with your warranty. |
