Is there a TSB for blinking dash lights?

My problem seems to be getting more persistant everyday! I was wondering if Ford or Roush has a TSB or fix available.

I had the same problem for MONTHS. I took it to the dealer four times before I got the fix. I finally had to go to a different dealer, and let me tell you they have my loyalty. Not only did they fix it right, they treated my like a real person and not some dumb rube who doesn't know dic* about cars.

Take it to a dealer with a good electrical guy, and tell him to call Roush. There is a voltage filter that should be installed on the back of the cluster. The way it was explained to me is: the cluster is recognizing ANY voltage spike as someone cranking the dimmer knob to full blast. The filter will maintain a constant voltage at all times. The fix works, trust me. I have been ranting and raving about this for months, and I am so glad it's fixed I bought the technician a case of beer.

Make sure you tell the dealer to call Roush and BE PERSISTENT until they get a hold of the person who knows the issue. Roush knows it is a problem, and the fix is simple. The problem is (a) getting a technician who gives a crap enough to actually chase down an electrical problem and (b) getting a hold of a person at Roush who knows the problem.

If you are in Texas anywhere near Houston, take it to Mac Haik Ford on I-10 and ask for Alex. He knows the fix. Even though they aren't "technically" a Roush dealer, they were still willing to do the Roush warranty work. I was in there every day and they showed me step by step what they did. I would highly recommend this service dept to anyone. I hate to say this, but I think that since this is a Saleen dealer, they know and respect people with a stiffy for their cars. They treated my baby like gold. She had her own bay inside the shop and never went outside.

actually, I spoke to a warranty tech at roush and they said that it is the inverter on the back of the cluster. I now have zero dash lights as of last night!! He said they have to remove my cluster, send it to the manufacturer of the dash, and then they will send it back. This doesn't exactly make me happy, as my car will be down until the dash is received!

Are you saying that basically all they have to do is install a filter on the back of the cluster? Please give me the number of the person you spoke to at Roush, because the guy I spoke with said that this is the first he heard of this problem.

I had mine removed and sent to Roush and they "fixed" it. Don't waste your time. I will get in touch with the dealer when I get off work tonight and get you the contact information.

Light Problem

What serial number do you all having the light problem have? Is it an early problem or something they all have just hasn't shown up on all of them yet? Also, at about what mileage did thisw start to show up? From your conversations with the ROUSH guys have they fixed the problem already? From the fix you all are describing the problem seems to be caused by a design flaw so we should eventually all develop the problem.

Good luck getting this fixed! I even have had it happen with car not running, but lights on. If it won't do it while they are looking, they won't believe you.

It just happened to me for the first time last week. I turned on my lower fogs just as dusk was hitting and I noticed No Dash lights. Of course the next day I went out in the AM. to check it and all was fine. Just figured it was a passing Gremlin.
But it if gets worse with time im not playin this game...

Ohh I just noticed that this was a really old thread...
So what was the up-dates on this one???
What is the fix, the filter behind the dash?
I think I might need to tend to this one sooner than later...

Yep this is an old thread but heres the pics of the part that needs replacing by Roush. You have to send your dash gage cluster to Roush to fix under warranty. It takes about a week turn around "snail-mail" Got mine done a while back and all works fine now.
