New mods

Today I installed the Midwest Auto Gear plenum cover and Redline Tuning hood struts. The plenum cover really dresses up the engine and cleans up the engine compartment. The hood struts are one of the best mods any one could do to a car, they make opening the hood easier and you can ditch the prop rod. Here are some pics. Next up is an K&N CAI and sequential turn signals later this week.

Didnt take long!

The engine cover is a nice touch (although it would have been nice if Ford had not cut it out at the last minute).

Looking good.

Thanks guys . It's too bad the bean counters nixed the plenum cover, damn accountants! Midwest makes the cover without the GT logo, so I guess you could always get that one and add the Roush fender badge. Maybe BlueBoy could do that?

Looks sweet.... the cover is a nice touch.

So did you go nuy the rivet gun or just rent it. I have the props just havent put them on cause I need the gun.

side note- does the 05 look like it has a lot of open space in there? Is it just me?

Thanks for the compliment. I bought the rivet gun last year when I put the struts on my '04 Mach, it was about $10. I agree, the 05's do look like there is more room than the previous years.

how are these hood props? It says "no drilling required", does anyone have them?

I looked into those at frist, but they are little more expensive than the Redline Tuning units. And I think they look too bulky and clunky with that angle piece attached to the hood (IMHO anyways). Drilling for the Redline struts is really easy. The hood is aluminum and easy to get through. The fenders are steel, so you need to apply some paint to the drilled holes before installing the rivets. I was a little nervous when I installed my first pair, but they were a breeze to do.

Nope, I've never used them before. The rivets hold really good.

They are like rivets

But they insert a thread in the middle of the rivet so they are bolt on and can be removed. you can still do it.Rivits are cool just make sure there tight. Maybe check them every now and then.

Saw these at a car show I was in on Sunday and ordered them yesterday. They use the factory bolt holes so no drilling is required.
