And we have liftoff

I was washing the car after our MD GTG today and I noticed my rear spoiler is starting to lift up. Passenger side leading edge. I guess it was only a matter of time before I joined the ranks.

Someone ought to head over to England and round up some of that epoxy that they bond the Elise chassis with. Use that, it's never coming off.

Seriously though, what have the dealerships done about warranty'ing this issue??

I have had mine re-set 3 times and it pops up with-in 1 week on both sides. Water gets under there and stays for quite a while unles you open the trunk full and let it sit for an hour or longer to drain. I have been back and forth with the dealer and Roush and they all say they know about it but still no solution. But I'm going to keep bugging them till they fix it right...

I called Roush today and spoke with the warranty deptartment. The rep said the have a new kit to fix tthe problem. It includes some type of hardware to secure the front of the spoiler. She said it is being used on the 06's. She went on to say to contact the dealer who will inturn contact Roush to have the part shipped. When it comes in the dealer will contact me and the install takes about 1/2 hour. I asked twice and she said it was hardware not same adhesive tape (or lack thereof) that we currently have.

The dealer can/should repair it for you.
It takes some oddball tools, so its best to let the dealer do it.

If the dealer balks about the update, or just wants to try retaping, tell them to use this part # for the update kit from Roush:
Spoiler Gap Service Kit - Rear Spoiler
R03030092-13-AA

Thanks protomec. I don't think the dealer will offer much resistance, he has too many Roushes sitting on the lot to have some maniac going off in the service area (LOL).

This might sound like a dumb question but, is the new parts and instalation covered by the warrenty from Roush or Ford. To me i think that is should be, but by past experiences i know thats not always the case.

Roushracer, when I called Roush the warranty department handled my question and provided the part info. As she described it, this would be covered under warranty but as you said, you never know.
