So who is going to be upset over a Saleen supercharger

Well,
You guys know that my car has a Procharger kit on it.
I purchased, then sold the Roush charger kit new in the Box because of the small head unit. [M90]
I really wanted the Roush charger, and its a "Beautiful" kit, but I am definately going to build a shortblock and shoot for the 700+ range.

Point is, that I have built and used EVERY power adder out there, on just about every make of vehicle out there.

With every power adder having its place in life, I am leaning towards the Saleen kit because it uses the Whipple 2.3 head unit.

A few custom pulleys later,[~15psi} and a built shortblock later I should be there.

I figure I can just remove the "Saleen" lettering and replace it with "Roush" lettering to try and fool some onlookers out there?

Let the beatings begin,

ANYONE INTERESTED IN MY PROCHARGER KIT??

Vince

Yeah, I would not mess around with the Saleen unit. I have one on a car, and though it is a Series IV, it is a major dissapointment. The Series VI is supposed to be better but why gamble?

Kenne Bell cant be beat if you just have to have a supersharger that is NOT centrifigual.

FRPP will be selling a whipple based kit for 05+, which uses a 2.3L compressor. I would say that will be the best unit - it will have a better intake manifold than the saleen, and it will have a better tune (which doesn't really matter if you are shooting for 700hp).

I have the old Series 4 kit on may car, which uses a whipple 1.6L compressor, but I have swapped out pretty much everything supplied by saleen except for the intake. (I bought mine before Kenne Bell was available, and Roush was not available for less than $8K )

So, if you are shooting for 700, might as well buy a kit with the best hardware b/c everything else will be scrapped shooting for your HP goals (tune, injectors. . . .).

Thought I would get attention quick.

Who has the best pricing on these kits?

I think the K.B. tuner kit is ~$5200
I already have #60 injectors. Plan on installing a boost-a-pump and other necessary fuel system goodies.

What is the whipple going for, and the available pulleys?

Its like having your girlfriend wear a Salma Hayek mask, banging her would be fun for a while, but deep down, its still your girlfriend.

Its like seeing those kids driving around with a Honda "Type R" badges, deep down its still fake.

Its like seeing mustangs with fake Roush kits.

Cool

Numbers aside, most of the blower kits available = crap.

Roush is the most completely engineered kit available, and by far the best looking IMO.

Agreed!

I have installed numerous kits on numerous makes of vehicles. I have run into numerous problems.
I did not install the Roush kit, but from the contents, it is a well planned out kit.

One other was a Magna charger kit that I intalled on a 03 5.3L Tahoe. (Police vehicle)

This power adder addiction is frustrating. We spend more time window shopping !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm going to get slack for this, but I got a really good deal on the saleen blower. It runs great and no problems at all. I'm going to be upgrading the pulleys, injectors and new tune soon. I will post numbers when I get the upgrade installed. heres a picture with roush emblems on it.

Probably 3500 shipped.
??????????????????

Might even put it on my wifes 05 EXPY

Sent an email to Kenny Bell requesting to purchase a "tuner" kit.
8 rib pulley upgrade, no injectors or MAF

I have a Kenny Bell on my 02 Harley F150, and I can only get 13 psi before belt slippage. (8 rib)
Has not concerned me too much, That is my daily driver. Don't want to push it too much.

If you are intending on going the 700+HP route forget Saleen OR Roush. The KB & Whipple is really your only choice. Both units are pretty good. I personally like KB but I am biased

the whipple and the saleen are both 2.3 twin screws, how do you see the saleen not being able to push 700hp?
