Roush Rear Springs

Has anybody looked at their Roush Rear Springs after they have been installed for a while? I was looking at mine and the close spaced coils are now touching each other. Just curious if any of you had this as well?

progressive rate coil springs can often come very close to touching... but I dont think that they should actually touch.. can you take a picture and post it perhaps?

While washing my car this past weekend I thought the same thing about my rear Roush springs. I am going to take a pic and post it up.

Here are pics of the Roush Right & Left Rear Springs.

Looks like it has settled down to far. The car was empty, no extra weight in the car.

05Rousher,

You are right, that does not look like it is correct. I will be interested in what the dealership and/or Roush have to say about this.

When does it go in to the dealership to be looked at? Keep us informed.

Well, I bought them from Ford and put them on myself. I'm going to send the pics to Roush and see what they have to say. They have been on less than 7 months. I will keep the group posted on what they say. I would reccommend anyone else that has the ROUSH Springs to look at theirs to see if they have the same problem.

Mine are fine. I've had the car for three months with 5800 miles and no problems.

Yes they are installed right. To me it looks like the close coils are not tempered quite right. They were real close to begin with. Maybe I'm just paranoid, the car rides great.

Have you heard back from Roush yet, or have you brought it to your dealer? I looked at your pics again and then my car, and it's quite a difference than what I see on mine.

Talked to Roush Warranty Dept. today. They said that it is normal for them to be that way. He said it will look like they are touching but their not. I got under and looked and they don't touch, but they are close. Thanks to all who left replies.

I'm glad you FINALLY got an answer. That leaves me feeling better about mine now.

Anybody with eibach or other types that we could compare to? As a mechanic those coils don't look right. under load there must be nothing left for travel.

I just did my instal of the roush suspension and I think your springs are upside down. The tight coils are mounted up not down. I checked with roush service tech today and I confess I had them the wrong way also. See if the roush writing on springs is upside down or the right side up if the writing is upside down they are wrong
