I actually like the smaller lights in the grill on the Saleens.

The Saleen wheels are hideous.
The Roush body kit is by far a better looking kit on the S-197 chassis.
The Roush cars with the "fork-lift" holes I still can't make up my mind about.

All joking aside....

I don't like all the lights in the front end of the Roush. Saleen gets the win for the front end looks.
I do like the back of the Roush except for the forklift holes. And the Saleen rear end is just plain fugly!

The wheels on the Saleen are too "bling bling".

Hands down Roush!

I may be banned for a differing opinion... but here are my thoughts...

This is all on style and looks/not engineering or performance, ect. (btw, I of course bow to Roush on those points/no debate there.)

First, I'm not a huge fan of the new platform's style, but it is growing on me...

SN-95's, always loved the original s351 and s281e's style, sleek, aggressive, center rear exhaust, ect. Roush's body style had to grow on me, and now... I love it alot more than the Saleen, but that is probably due to bias.

S-197's, I for now yield all style points to the Saleen... now they are both really aggressive in styling, but there is just some unexplainable draw there for me... Roush's style is better than stock... as for the wheels, not a fan of either... but for today +1 to Stevie.

Overall, I like the Saleens with the exception of two things. Owning a classic Mustang and considering the Mustang's evolution since 1965 (64 1/2), Steve Saleen missed something when he removed the Pony from the grill and covered up a portion of the tri-bar taillights that Mustangs have shared throughout the years. When I'm done with my 65 and my 05 is modded to my liking, I wouldn't mind picking up a used 05 Silver Saleen if the price was right.

Just my 2 cents........

I had a good chance to walk around a lot of Saleens at the past Knotts show a couple weekends ago. Aside from the occasional drive-by, I never had an opportunity to check them out in person until then.
It took me a while to realize why I didn't care for the styling nearly as much as the Roush... the Saleens didn't look enough like a Mustang. Some of them actually reminded me of a BMW.
Roush has taken the Mustang and tweaked it enough to look f'n incredible yet still retain the basic styling and vibe which I prefer.

So...Roush all the way.

when both of the new body styles came out i really like the saleens they just looked diffrent but now that i have looked more at the roush i really like it better just seems more like a muscle car which is what mustang is all about, i still like the saleen style but overall the roush has a much better package in my opinion the same thing happen to me in the 99-04 body style at first i really liked the s351 style then i fell in love with the roush

At the NMRA car show, I had a few Saleen owners come up to me and say they liked the look of the new Roush over the Saleens. I think Saleen went with an "upscale" look for the new Mustang and it fell a little flat. Their look just has that feel like they missed the point of the new design. They are nice looking, but I looked at both before buying, and it was no choice for me. Roush all the way

Shooooottt...

Roush all the way! It just looks like pure modern day muscle with a touch of the old school, sure would'a been awesome if they kept the Side exhaust IMO. Ofcourse that's not a good pair of pic's to compair either as the Saleen is a vert vs. a coupe

you can look flashy, ricerish, and be 1 of a million in a saleen, or you can look awesome and be the badest mother f'ker around in a roush. you pick. i choose roush, and would again, hands down.
