My New Roush Sport

Picked up a new 05 Roush Sport a few weeks ago. Was doing some research and came across this Web site. Looks like a great site for Roush owners.

Not my first Stang, but it is my first Roush. Didn't plan on buying a Roush when I hit the lot, but fell in love with it when I saw it sitting there. And luckily, so did my wife, or I'd be driving a regular GT. The fact that it was discounted heavily, and had 1.9% financing sealed the deal.

And now that I have it, I love it. And I'm quickly finding out that it turns a lot of heads.

Welcome aboard! First post and included pics, that's a real plus around here. Thought I was the only 05 Roush with the IUP/ICAP (Ford Interior) option. So this raises a few questions. 1. Is yours definately a 2005? 2. What is your Roush serial number? It's located on the passenger side door jamb.

I'll have to check the serial # when I get home from work - I haven't committed it to memory yet.

But if I remember correctly, it was built in July 05, and Roush'd in August 05. I'll verify that. Is that IUP/ICAP the red/black interior option code?

IUP/ICAP is pure Ford codes for;

IUP - Interior Upgrade Package
ICAP - Interior Color Accent Package

I special ordered mine from Ford this way and it took 28 weeks and 2 days before I picked it up. This setup on a Roush is rare so it may be possible that the car was special ordered and then not purchased by the orderer. The 2005 Roush production numbers do show one black vert with red interior but, this may be Roush's red leather and not Ford's. The production numbers posted here as a PDF does have some confirmed errors on it though.

Did your car come with an actual Roush Window Sticker or just the Ford Window Sticker?

1. Your Ford Window Sticker notes DLX for Deluxe and not PREM for Premium?
2. Your code is 170A and not 140A?
3. No Roush floor mats, just crimson red Ford's?
4. No Roush windshield banner?
5. Do you have a four guage cluster or six gauge cluster which will include voltage and oil pressure on the bottom?
6. Do you have MyColor guages where you can change the color of the guages?
7. Do you have better pictures of your exhaust tips that you can post? They look different for some reason.

Its listed as a deluxe twice on the sticker.

2. Your code is 170A and not 140A?
Its 170A

3. No Roush floor mats, just crimson red Ford's?
Roush mats in the trunk, still in the plastic

4. No Roush windshield banner?
It has both windshield and back window Roush decal

5. Do you have a four guage cluster or six gauge cluster which will include voltage and oil pressure on the bottom?
Six gauge

6. Do you have MyColor guages where you can change the color of the guages?
Yep. And the novelty of changing the colors wore off after 2 days.

7. Do you have better pictures of your exhaust tips that you can post? They look different for some reason.
I'll take some new pics this weekend if it warms up. Weather here has been almost but not quite.

I just moved to RM after 10 years in LITH and Huntley. Had to move closer to work - couldn't take the traffic anymore.

It's weird that it's a deluxe optioned out that way. I take it that it doesn't have side air bags (cloth tag sewn into the side of the seat that say's Airbag) or an Active Anti-Theft system?

A. It was either special ordered or slipped through the Ford cracks.
B. You have one of the last 05's produced.
C. It's rare.
D. Enjoy it!

Oh yeah, did you buy in Libertyville? I used to work in that town and was born there (Condell).

I'm guessing it was special ordered and never picked up. What's unusual about the way it was optioned?

I got it at Packey Webb in Wheaton.

In early production, ICAP was only an option on the Premuim model and of course you first had to have the IUP package. And for obvious reasons, ICAP is only offered on certain exterior colors. I.e. no red interior on Windveil Blue or Screaming Yellow, etc. Looks like later in production and probably due to the popularity of the interior they started offering it on the Deluxe's also. This interior option looks awesome on black & silver exterior cars. I preferred it over Roush's leather so I ordered my car and played the waiting game. See my other posts for addtional pics. Anyway, it will be hard to find another 05 black vert with that interior. Check the PDF posted here under "Production Numbers". If it's accurate, you're 1 of 1. I'm still not sure if my car is on the PDF because I have an 06 Roush serial number. My car was built on 07/25/05 and Roush'd some time in September after the 06 production began.

Now that you've bought it, you'll want to start showing it so.....
