2005 Roush Value

Any thoughts on what my 2005 Roush would go for with 12K miles? Options are as follows:

Corbeau TRS leather seats
4 point harness
TriAx Short Shifter
Roush Billet shift knob
Billet A/C control, radio control, mirror control, lock pins
SS Plenum cover and radiator cover
20" Cobra Rims
Roush Off Road Exhaust
C&L Intake with SCTII
JBA long tubes
Steeda underdrive pullies
4.10 gears

Dyno tuned to 294/310

GT's are only about 27K now, but didn't know what kind of mark up for the "Roush" package and tricks done. Everyday commute on gas is killing me!!

I can get a 06 GT with Deluxe package and 5spd from the dealership down the road for around 24K...I see a lot of the Roush cars on eBay and other sites going for as little as 28 and as much as 40. I would say your car is worth somewhere in the middle.

edit: off topic but that screen name looks really familar, did you used to cruise a lot on the 3.8 Forums? I swear there was an 'LSUFAN', just curious if you are the same person?

No, wasn't I, only been hanging here. I use the car for everyday use and drive all over the State of Florida, and gas is killing me with her. Those prices aren't encouraging, especially if new. I think I paid 36, plus about 4K in upgrades.

25-26, you got to be kidding. If I drive with eggs under the accerlator maybe 15 in the city, but usually 11-12. That's what I do mostly. Highway, maybe a respectable 20. I'm guessing gas is going to hit $4.00 a gallon by the end of this year if not sooner.

Hey man
I would hate to see anyone have to sell their ride!!! I bet this gas thing will get under control. Maybe you ought to look into just buying an old car cheap that gets like 30+ mpg and you can keep the miles off your car. Your Roush Mustang will depriciate faster than spending a couple grand on an old beater by driving it a lot of miles.
Just my 2 cents!

Good advice I second it... old Escorts are very cheap, seem to run forever, & I get 38-42 on mine (hiway) 28-31 city.

We get 25-26 pretty easy on the 2004 Mach 1 with the 32 valve engine on the freeway..@ 75 & 80mph... all stock. In the city.. 18-19 driving good... 15-16 driving for maximum fun.

I've been driving a 91 Mazda MX-6 and it gets about 30 to 35 mpg.Dont sell your ride for gas reasons ,it will change.Tell your boss hey need a raise for cost of living. But really a second car is really not much $ and will save in long run.I did it and over the last 3 months Ive cut back about a $100 dollars a month on fuel.Just get a motorcycle maybe it will even save you more and it doesnt need to be a crotch rocket... You will be kicking yourself for selling your car trust me.I miss my (65 GT fastback) still.

Sorry to hear that but that is what the 4.10s will do to you.

Heck, I haven't seen any drop since the 4.10 install. Never got more than 12K in the city. Too much stop and go to the next red light and stop again traffic in Orlando.

Can't tell you how many cars I've had that I wish I still had:
'78 Fiat Spider
'65 Mustang Rag top
'65 Mustang Rag top
'86 Lotus HCI Esprit
'73 Triumph TR6
'01 Boxster - well I don't regret getting rid of that one

Well and the list goes on. I've got two old Alfa's now as the garage queens, one of which my wife won't let me sell (maybe my car fetish is finally rubbing off on her), the other with a quarter size hole in the radiator.

For an everyday driver, though, 12 mpg is bad with me putting 15K miles a year on her. That's $3,750.00/yr on gas alone at $3/gallon. Hate to tell you boys and girls, but you're going to see $4/gal prices b/f the end of this year. With India and China growing, the demand is only going to go higher driving prices further up.

As for asking the boss...well that's me. Too many toyz and not enough support. Jeb Bush is doing his best in Florida put all lawyers out of business. I think something personal must have happened to him...let's hope he never runs for President as he has completely screwed this state up in his 8 year stay...

I kinda of figured you were the boss most of us here that own Roushes are. But still wish you wouldn't sell your ride. Its a real nice one and unless someone on this site buys it. It will be missed and you included if you drop off here for a while.Fix the hole and drive both of the cars ,off and on.Or keep the wifes and sell the other.Hang on there fellow Fnsweet member a Roush is to good to let go. 2005's are gonna hold there value in the future. Due to the body style at least ,and being the limited amount of 2005's.

Something sounds wrong then. You should be getting more than 12. My S2 got 26 on the highway (stock gears, 18 rims). And better than 12 in the city. My brother had 4.10s and got 10 mpg. Sounds like maybe some of your mods is the problem.

I hear ya, I lived in Orlando for over 2 years and I will never move back. Took me 50 min to go 15 miles. Forget that!

I-4 is a parking lot 90% of the time!

Although, buying another cheap car makes sense...Anything with power won't do much better than 23-25mpg.. You should be getting no less than 18-19 on the expressway.

I'm in the same boat since I drive a lot for work, but I am getting better miles than that though. When I put 3.73's in my old 00GT the gas mileage dropped big time. Although this weekend's mileage was bad going north since my average speed was around 100. I had to burn the carbon of the plugs, you understand.....

I'm only 3 miles from my office, it's all the driving during the day on town that's killing me. My last Mustang, a '65 rag top with a 650 Holley got 10mpg, at least I'm about 2 better in the Roush.
