Unhappy EIBACH PRO KIT's installed..NOW WHAT?

Installed the Pro Kit Springs last week and picked up a rattle/buzzing in the rear. Noticable only on acceleration and quick compression on bumps. Everything is secure. I've taken it to 2 shops on the rack..couple of test drives...can't figure it out. Anyone be of any help?

The first thing that comes to my mind is an E-Brake cable rubbing/vibrating against a lower control arm, axle housing, shock absorber, bracket or something. When you lower the car sometimes things need to be readjusted so they dont interfere or rub.

The spring isolators? Did you replace or leave them out?

I haven't lowered mine yet, but when I put in the new LCA's the ebrake cable just kind of hung out there. I had a rattle and slight vibration/rubbing noise also. Went underneath ty-wrapped it down and the problem went away.

Just for the hell of it though, you may want to double check the pinion angle and centering of the rear. Under a load it could give you the vibration noise, though usually it sounds more like a popping noise with a grind in it.

The only other thing I had was my upper control arm had a loose lock nut on it and that caused a pretty loud pop when stopping and starting. It was just about hand tight (we forgot to finish tightening it with a wrench when we finished), so we tightened it and it went away.

Hmmmm. My cable runs "through" the LCA, considered that actually but, put it aside thinking because it's wrapped, probably wouldn't make the noise...It's definitely the sound you describe..will check it today.

I have found that sometimes the Rattle or Buzz was due to the ehaust hangers rubbing at rear of car on back side of bumpers.Check with car lowered. My Wife's Mustang GT has the Pro Kit installed this is what we found was the Rattle or Buzz.Hope this helps.

I have the Pro-kit as well but haven't heard any noise. When you isolate the problem please post what you found so I'll be aware.

Had the car up on a 4 point lift today trying to find problem...moved the exhaust down and looked carefully at potential rubbing points..no change and nothing visible. Still puzzled...and a little frustrated. Had a conversation with someone here in town with same kit...no issues.

FINALLY...found the problem. E Brake cable at the DRIVE LINE, not the rear. Noise was radiating. Rotated mounting bracket right above the DL and repositioned it. I'm guessing there are cars like mine ofr example..where the bracket is just in the wrong place. Thanks for all the feedback!

Much more stable..especially on the gas. Looks...sleak, very hot with the 20's. Made the mistake of not researching/ordering shocks in time. There's a slight rebound issue with the stock "legs" but, nothing serious. An inexpensive worthwhile upgrade.
