So I'm driving my Roush and I hear a clunk and see parts on the road behind me....

Yeah so tonight I decided to go for a ride in the stage 2 with my new roushcharger on there. The supercharger has been awesome as well as the whole car. Anyway I'm driving a long and hit the gas a little bit in first and second. Made a U-turn down the road and was cruising back. Slow down to a 5 mph roll making a left at a street light when all of the sudden I hear clink clank clunk. I thought I ran over a bottle or something in the road. I look in my rear view mirror and see two pieces laying in the road. So I pull over and grab the two pieces...pics below. I quickly took pics with my phone and sent them to the service manager...he said it looks like something from the tirod on the front end...but the weird thing is that if you look at the pics the blue metal freakin snapped right off from the frame! Solid metal cracked right off. This doesn't seem right to me. The car has only 3600 miles and I take really good care of it. So now it is going to be flatbedded into the dealership tomorrow and I'll find out what made a strong piece of metal like that just snap off. Thank god that I got the roushcharger though and not some other aftermarket one s/c. The warranty should now come in handy. But Just wanted to throw this thread up hear in case the same thing has happened to anyone else. I'll keep everyone posted as to what it was.

That looks an awful lot like the front sway bar end-link that snapped on my car a few weeks ago! Snapped right at the weld on mine too! Got a new one from Roush and fixed under warranty.

Holly Sh!t... Sway bar mounts breaking off. I have a super crappy steap driveway and I drive the car pretty hard to. I guess I better keep an eye on that.
If it is sway bar, seems like it could be due to the huge sway bars on the Roush suspension.

Might be a good idea for you other guys to occasionally inspect those parts on your car

This is kind if scary, at least you were slowing down and not trying to Formula One your way around a curve when it snapped.

So it turns out it was the linkage of the front sway bar and it should be an easily replaceable part...just have to go through the roush paperwork then they have to ship it so my car will be out of commision for a week or so. What makes me nervous is the fact that this broke so easily with only 3500 miles on the car....

That chunk of metal used to belong to your front strut assy. I have seen a few of these on the various forums.

It is the flange, and that is where my left one snapped, right at the weld point. It looks like I'm not the only one this has happened too.

If I'm not mistaken, the part he is talking about is a Roush part not a Ford part. It's the Roush sway bar! Roush engineering failed on this one.

Glad to see you are O.K, just glad it wasn't at high speed. Keep us updated and see what the service manager has to say about this problem.
