I saw 4.7 from one of the mags, which happened to be what they got from the GT500 as well. The 1/4 mile times were 2 tenths slower than the Shelby and ~4 mph less, although times for both cars were not that great.

I wouldn't put much faith in those GT 500 times they very a great deal from one mag to another. I have seen them range from 12.2 sec qtr mile times to 13 sec times. Where the Mustang Gt's runs 13.9 1/4 times so they want me to believe a 300 hp Gt is only a few tenths slower than a 500 hp shelby, I doubt it. Plus the speeds I have seen on these Gt 500 test equal to a low 12 to high 11 sec times not 13.

All times will change given traction difficulties, driver, elevation, and temp anyway. So many variables to really know.

I do beleive that I hear a 4.? 0-60 for the Stage 3, but I am not for sure what it was.

I will see what the 1/4 mile is on my Stage 3 soon as I get it all back up to par. It might not be too good though, Living in Vegas has it's disadvantages.

Just saw a Shelby make two runs at a dragstrip : 13.35 and 13.32 were it's times. Hot out and crap track, but I watched a '04 run it down easy.

You can estimate yourself with this formula

I just ordered an 07 Roush Stage One, and added the Procharger Unit, Long Tube Headers to the order. I sold my 400HP C5 Vert, and also have the 06 GTO. I want to see how the cars compare in acceleration. The Mustanf has such varying reports on performance, hard to know what it actually does.

Pretty good selection of cars there... it's a good thing Pontiac wasn't smart with the GTO. If they had made it al cooler looking car it would be of a threat in sales to the Mustang. The GTO isn't ugly it's just (to me) a fairly normal looking car, with a big ass motor... Fast yes, as cool as a Mustang, NOPE.

I wonder what the performance in handling will be from the GTO to the Stang. But the Stage 1 uses the Ford Spounge, oops i mean suspension. I am not sure how the GTO is set-up.

Since when is 0-60 in 4.7 not impressive anymore?? Especially for a 417HP Roush Stage3. MotorTrend, CD, AutoWeek, etc.. these guys don't powershift so expect the time to be more like 4.5. You are talking 4.7, pretty much in the same catagory as an M3, Audi S4, etc... and with a few simple mods, you get drop in down even further. As for th GT500, its been covered on this forum extensively so I wouldn't bother getting into it, but simply its too porky.

The GTO is my son's, and it handles very well, 400HP out of the box, performance is plenty. I am not concerned about the lack of the Stage 2 Suspension on the Roush, I can tweak that as needed. I already have an 07 Z06 on order, we dont care if it is GM or Ford as long as it performs.

I was talking about both cars running in the 13s through the 1/4 mile not being that impressive. The 4.7 0-60 isn't bad at all, although I agree that better is possible.

well the gt 500 is gonna shine a bit more with more hp up top as speeds climb, but getting 4,000lbs to move is alot of work, again ford didnt do it all right. since these cars are rear traction limited, 1,000hp isnt worth crap anyways from 0-60, you need that traction.
