Smile TSB's Done

Took the Roush in on Tue. to have the the TSB for the fuel tank and the fuel pump done. Also had them check acouple of other things while they had. They completed the work in about a day. It was so nice to fill up the tank without premature cutoff. I told them the TSB numbers when I called them and gave them the VIN# and they ordered the parts that day, so when I took the car in they jumped right on it. Just goes to show that their are dealerships that treat people right.

The 2005 and some 2006 Mustangs experiance fueling problems. This is due to the venting of the tank. They will replace your fuel tank under warranty to correct this problem. The fuel pump, TSB 06 06 09 if I remember right. During sustained speeds on the highway and then coming to a complete stop and then taking off again, the engine may stall from fuel starvation. This is due to air bubbles forming around the fuel pickup in the tank. Thiey replace the fuel pump and screen assembly as well, under warranty.

This would explain why two weeks ago when I tried to fill up the pump stopped at half a tank.I thought my gas gauge was bad.
The next day I tried to put fuel in it and it took the other half a tank after only driving five miles.
Why isnt this a recall?I havent received anything in the mail informing me of this.

if it isn't affecting every car or a safety issue, they put out TSB's instead of doing a recall. not every car will have this problem.

i also had posi clutch replaced and there is supposed to be a TSB on that as well. the dealer can plug your VIN into their computer and it will show all relevant TSB's

My car does that trick too.It won't take gas at one station,so then I drive across the street and it fills up ,no problem.I think it just needs to burp...
Iwas going to leave it for the dealer to fix,but changed my mind(it was a good day to go to the beach) .Don't want to miss that.I haven't experienced the fuel void while driving. If I do i'll get the TSB work done!
