Street Scene Grille installed

got around to putting this on tonight. install took slightly over an hour. it took nearly 40 min just to get the damn OEM grille out of there. scratched my arm up pretty good trying to get a screwdriver in between the radiator and bumper to apply pressure to the bottom two tabs. the tabs on the side of the grille weren't exactly cooperative either.

the steps in the instructions that cover the removal of the factory grille were far too vague. i was annoyed to see how many times the directions say to "gently apply pressure", when in reality it's "push as hard as you fuckin can, and then some!"

there were some minor fitment issues that i had to deal with, and i was disappointed to see that the holes for the torx screws in the street scene grille weren't already threaded for you.

overall though i'm happy with the product and the way it turned out. pics attached:

edit: i should've mentioned i (of course) ordered from Stage 3 Motorsports. everything came quickly and well packaged. thanks Bill!

I think this is just a nice clean look...especially with the black...probably helps that it is all clean and shiny.....

does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to affix the classic mustang symbol on the front right side of the grille? much like the placement on the shelby's grille

looks Bitchin........

Should have come from the factory that way. They eliminated the grill pony on the 87-93 models (minus the Cobra). So it's not like it hasn't been done.

Maybe some 3m double sided tape. (The kind used to affix body kits) All the major auto parts stores have it.

thanks for the tips spindlecone and merlin. i think the 3m tape may be the best solution. i'd rather risk it coming off than never being able to get it off again. swapping out that grille is most definitely a one-time-only mod if you ask me!

No, that one is not too big. When I had my 89GT I had the 5.0 emblem removed from the fenders and I had that emblem put on. It looked real cool until Ford decided to make that emblem represent the V6's a few years later LOL.

I think you should go for it. When you customize your stang using pony emblems from other eras I think it adds a nice touch and makes for a unique appearance.

That is really becoming one of my favorite mods for the new Mustang.

BTW gaberubin, do you live downtown in the city there in LA?

i'll order up both emblems and try them on with some double sided scotch tape, take some pics, and post them here. see what you guys think...

mustangone, i live in pasadena which is about 10 miles NE of downtown, but my company's office is downtown. we're moving into a much snazzier place in beverly hills/west hollywood area on the 18th though, cant wait. downtown LA is a total dump - nothing but cracked out zombies roaming the streets
