Why not ROUSH??

Why do you see so much more marketing on the Shelby than the Roush mustangs. I bought a Roush 2007 S3 because I love the look of it. I have so many peaple ask me why I bought that instead of the new Shelby? I think it is because you see commercials, articles, etc. People who know cars understand my choice, and I guess that's all that matters.

Well I sold my 01 cobra for my 06 Roush. I was going to wait, and even pay slight mark-up for the Shelby but after learning that I would have to wait more than a year to get one (at best) and they were going to be marked up to around 60K or better, I decided on the Roush. Now I have an exclusive car that draws mad attention wherever it goes. And after the blower goes on, I'll have the power to keep up with the Shelbys, all for less than one. It's funny how many people think that the Roush comes from the factory with a supercharger.

Ford has a much larger dealer base than Roush does and uses the Shelby's to drive traffice to their delivers to sell other cars.. that is basiclly why you see Shelby ads..

Remember a little camero called "Yenko" ?

Look at what those babies are worth!

What do you think the Roush name will bring to the table in a few more years!?

Ive never seen another roush in these parts but lots of shelby's. I like it that way. Would hate to see a roush on every corner.Only the selected few own a roush.

I've been told many times that they like my Roush better than the new Shelby's. They do look great! And they are rarer than Shelby's also.

First and foremost, it's spelled C A M A R O.

How can you even begin to compare a Yenko to a Roush or Shelby???
To start with.... those cars are 30 years old.

I also don't see any Roushs or Shelbys running around with 427s either!

Production was SLIM of these cars. Originally thought to only be 54 for '67, but some believe the number to be closer to 100. 68 cars in 1968 is also thought to be slightly higher. 1969 Chevy only agreed to build 50, but upped production to 69.

Lastly, we've already seen what Roushs "bring to the table" in aftermarket sales, and it ain't shit. There are several thousand rather than a couple hundred, and are not in the same ballpark, not in the same league, not even the same f'ing sport......
You hang on to your Roush for 30 years and let me know how much more than about 10% over GT value you get...

If you want a better example of a car going up in value, look at a matching numbers '69 ZL-1 Camaro, not the Yenko, COPO, or Nickey.

I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I was a little surprised about the comment. I thought that this was a site where everyone was part of the Roush family. I took some of my own advice and added a little Bailey's to my coffee and I'm cool now. I still love my car!!!

I'm not sure he was aiming at me, since my comment has no bearing on anything he posted whatsoever.... but if so, then I must say that I'm really not "jealous" of an '07 S3, since I'm not too big of a fan of the new body style to begin with, and because I feel it's too slow out of the box anyway, especially with what I'm aiming for My comment is also that of a former 1st gen. Camaro owner, and someone who still has a deep passion for them. The comparison, to me, was like his beloved '07 S3 being compared to a Cobalt If the post was taken as offensive, it wasn't meant to be. It was meant to be somewhat informative, as well as very realistic. Unfortunately, Roush vehicles are notorious for crappy resale values, and that is a fact, not an opinion.

That being said, the Roush is the ONLY new Mustang that I think looks good. The Shelby is far far lacking in any kind of exterior styling. I see them all the time and they are very bland and they really have nothing to set them apart.
No doubt the Shelby is a good performer, it is just milk toast in the exterior department.

I had a Shelby on order for a long time, and dumped it once I found out they were making 8 - 10k a year and not coming off Shleby's assembly line!!!!!

Too early Markass to compare aftermarket sales of Roushes to Yenkos. The Rouses don't have nearly enought years on them yet! Granted many less Yenos were produced, but 10% over a GT in 30 years sounds way too low. Show a little love brother! lol
We all must wait a long time to see what the true collectablilty of our Rouses will be worth!

That's why I wrote the 3rd line

Yenkos were only produced in handfuls. Roushs are pretty readily available, and we are seeing even more of the 05+ flavor. It's pretty hard to judge the value of any item 30 years down the road, but a plain vanilla item of which many were made, unfortunately, won't be the big ticket item

Why are you saying plain vanilla, Rouses are far from that. I think also in our favor is that Roush in the most dominant team in NASCAR and will make them more desireable down the road than a Saleen, Kenny Brown, Steeda, etc.

I suppose I should have further specified. There are some versions that are more highly sought after, and are much rarer than others. Not just an S1, 2, 3, or other. For instance, one of the Roush Cobras would be more of a hot ticket item down the road than say a Stage 3, simply based on production.

Maybe I should have said plain vanilla FROSTED, but without sprinkles
