will these tires be work?

is a 295/40/20 too big for a 20x9 wheel? i'd like to do 295/40/20 in the back and 275/40/20 in the front...

any forseeable issues? will i need to have the computer tweaked to account for the larger tires?

thanks fellas!

Check out www.tirerack.com and look up the specific tire you are looking at. They have the specs for the tires and the recommended rim widths for the tires sizes. I have used this alot to double check this same question.

which is a combination of:

"will these tires work?" and "will these tires be okay?"

It's understandable. I think you'll be okay with the width of the 295's, that's what I've been told anyways. I am looking to get some BFG KDW 2's in 295 for the rear. I just don't know if a 9" rim is too narrow?

You can fit a 295 tire on a 9 inch rim, but, after about about 10,000 miles you will see cracks on the sidewall from the stress of the narrow rim pulling the tire "in" <---- This is a fact brutha. You can see how the Roush 9 inch rims with the factory 265 tires look, now add another 30mm (to make 295mm) and see how it looks, it's like a fat girl having bulges sticking out the side of her "too tight" jeans and it gave her stretch marks (just the same as it will give your tire cracks).

That would be a Muffin Top girl. You know the fat hangs over the pants like a muffin.

As for the tires, the 295 is a little wide for a 9". 275 would be about as much as you could go. As the profile of the tire gets lower like the 40 series, there isn't enough sidewall for the tire to adjust to the rim.

You may not be able to clear all the stuff under the car either. I really haven't looked at my under mine for clearance becuase I have the Forged Roush Stage 3 wheels and dont plan on taking them off. Well maybe for some drag tires once or twice.

That is commonly referred to as a "muffintop" girl.

like the top of a muffin rolling out of the muffin cup

Check http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp to see how much of a difference there will be between your current setup and whatever you plan to do. You probably will need to update the computer to account for the new circumference.

Also, I think fat tires (275) up front will lead to you being pulled all over the road, following every track and groove in the pavement. That's what I've heard, anyway. I've got 245 up front, and they're bad enough.

Mine does not pull either. Does anyone know what the the largest tire size the 06 will accept with the 10" Roush wheels (front and back)? Mine has not been lowered, but I may install the Roush rear springs later, which will lower the rear 1".
