Lower the Rear End

Has anyone lowered a Roush (with Roush suspension) any? I would really like to lower the rear end another 1/2"-1". I would like to keep the Roush springs but maybe by cutting a little off one or each end I could get 1/2" or a little more. Any thoughts on this?

would I did was swap out the roush springs for the eibach pro kit,,the stance was a 100x better as far as looks, and about 10x better in handling. I'm using the roush shocks and struts still.

Do you have any pictures you can post or email me? I would really like to see the result. I am sure the look is many times better, but 10x improvement on handling? Is this seat of the pants or did you do a skid pad test? How about ground clearance? I know it will be lower but did you have any major problems? And how about front-end alignment: where you able to get back the Roush alignment specs? Any more info would be great. Thanks...

I dont have an anwser Frank 3 but I was going to make a post on a similar toppic maybe you can help. I orginaly bought a Stage 1 06 and have been doing some mods to it. If I get away from the stock suspension and I lower it with a Roush suspension what does that do to the ride of the car?
I have some friends that lowered there cars back in the 90's and they rode like crap. You had to crawl over RR tracks and any bump in the rode your kidneys new personaly.
I guess what im looking for is better handling and of course the look but with the same quality of the stock GT set up.
So I guess im asking how does you car drive compared to mine? Thx.

I didnt skid pad test it, but you could really feel the difference going around corners.

didnt have to align it after the install.

the front spoiler still clears pretty good and did not have any major problems.

heres two pics with the eibach pro kit

Actually I am very happy with the ride of the Stage 3 suspension. It is not as harsh as the "in the day" lowered rides. It actually is rather smooth on the highway until you get to the moderate bumps and it does get stouter. I guess this is what progress style springs do for you. Although I haven’t really flexed it on a road course, from what I can tell, its handling is predicable, rather well balanced and has little body roll. Overall I would say it is definitely a little harsher than a stock GT, but I don't mind. No kidney belt required...

Before you purchase a kit though, try to get someone who has a Stage 2 or 3 in your area to give you a ride...

Hope this helps…

Thanks for the pics. The stance definitely looks great. I see 20" wheels. What size tires? I am curious how the height compares to the GeForces that came with mine. Your's sure fills out the fenders nicely... Sweet

Seems like all I do is defend Roush and keep the name from being slamed. It gets frustrating. People do mods to GTs and think its the bomb. Sure some turn out nice but some dont. I never once slamed any GT but plenty of people take shots at us.

They allways say Roush (and others) are over priced. But if you did all the mods that come stock with the Roush Pkgs and had them professionaly painted and installed you would not be comming out a head. Also I got it done day one and its in my payment, done deal. Not to mention the lore of owning a Roush. People who know nothing about cars love these cars. Not to mention the Nascar fans who go Ape Snot.

Sorry but this has been a boil on my behind for some time now.

most people bash what they can't have to make themselves feel better about their car. I've heard that before from a guy with a gt "why did you waste your money, you could of got a gt for 10 grand less" funny, because 3 months later he winded buying a stage2 and eating his words.....

For me, I don't care if you have Roush, Saleen, ... or a GT (stock or otherwise), it's all about the enjoyment of owning, working on, driving and getting together with others that enjoy the same. In general, yes I could have paid a lot less for a GT than I did for my Stage 3 and then did the mods myself, but I chose not to. Should that be my bad? I don't think so! I am happy with what I have and I hope that others are happy with what they have. I say no bashing allowed!

05 HOTROD,

You're car looks great............

How is the ride with the Pro Kit and 20's? any fender well issues (rubbing)?

On level ground what is the chin spoiler to ground clearance?

Thanks much,

the ride is a little bit rougher than the roush springs and the clearance is about 5 1/2 inches

no rubbing on the fender well at all....

Well, thanks for the replies. I guess no one has altered the Roush springs at all. Just wondering...
