Shucks that is old school! We had that back in the 50's! Think you are smart enough to start a 57 buick? Where was the starter?

Just curious what is the fascination with a push button start??

I assume you still use the key to turn on the ignition?

I think it is a nice setup, not something for everybody but it is a novelty that some people like.

was gonna order one, Like walt, I harken back to the olden days, nostalgia beckened for a minute, will leave the car as Roush intended it to be.
Oh, and Walt, on my 53 dropped top merc, starter button was left of the steering wheel, lower dash, when the chrome button rotted off, needed to insert a pencil to activate the switch

Could be on the floor next to the gas like on my old 57 Chevy Truck I would have killed for a push button start.

Why SS? I had that on my grandads 53 Chevy truck too...I kinda liked it, you just heel & toed the gas & starter at the same time & she fired up! (But I know old stuff like "heel & toe" is too hard for you youngins! LOL...you all like automatics!)

HEY! This was my 4000th post! Wow... a milestone & I wasted it! hehe...

E-mailed 5.0 Resto months ago, and they said their kit would fit 99-04s with minor modifications. Been thinking about it.

On the topic of push button starts, I installed one on my girlfriends Cougar for when her starter solenoid doesn't feel like working right.

Hmmm..... Might try that but i would be worried that someone would try and press it when the engine is one. Some people cant resist pushi9ng buttons.

I have one and it is kinda a novelty....teh girls love it when you go out on a date adn they get to start teh car from teh passenger seat! I can not remember the last time I pressed it, she always begs me to "Touch it" hahaha

The way I installed it is without the ignition....so yo ucan only start the car with teh button. It is funny when I go have things done to the car (TINT, Exhaust, dealer maint) They tech guys sit in teh car for a few min before coming in and they say..."How do you start this thing!?" haahahah
