all about chips/tunes

hey guys, hoping someone here can explain in detail how to go about installing a custom tune: what exactly it entails to set it up, what i can expect, how easy it is to go back to stock when taking the car in, etc.

i don't really have the time or the need to take the car in for a custom tune on a dyno, so something i can order online and setup myself would be ideal.

i ordered new wheels and above all i'd like to correct the speedo to accomodate the new tire/wheel size. getting rid of the throttle lag and all those other little niceities would be a nice bonus

so, can someone, anyone, please educate me?

I have teh Diablo Predator...you can also get an SCT tuner it is teh same thing.

As for my Predator it is VERY easy to adjust things on teh car, so much so that if you do not know what you are doing you can mess things up! If you wanted to change teh revs per mile (Due to your tires) that should be easy enough to do. You can always put the car back to stock with the press of a button.

I do all my own tunes with my car....I have added a LOT of mods so far and have adjusted teh tune little by little with all of 'em. THat is teh good part about getting a tuner adn not a PRE-Customized chip....with a tuner you can adjust things little by little as you go.

I have the SCT with 87 91 and 93 Demolet tunes. Simple to use. Just plug into the odb port and follow the instructions on the screen of the tuner. Takes all of 5 minutes if that to tune. I was hesitant at first because if it's mechanical I can screw it up, but it was nothing to it.

Demolet makes the CAI I have. His tunes are specific for his intakes. http://www.demolet.com/

ODB is the computer port below the dash on the drivers side. Take a look under there you can't miss it.
