Roush Brakes part 2

Hi all

I finally managed to get round to doing my brake upgrades today. I've been waiting for the weather to give me just one dry day, so that I could roll her out onto the drive and get this done.
I don't know if any of you remember my previous thread on this topic, but I wanted to fit these brakes using my existing 18" Bullitts, which seemed to be impossible. Anyhooo, with some very creative use of the 1" wheel spacers supplied by Drifting Performance, the job is now done. Incidentally, those spacers really give the car an aggresive stance, so it looks pretty awesome.
I'm not sure if you can see it in these pictures, but I have also changed the rear rotors to keep it all looking uniform.
So, that's the suspension done, and the brakes done. Next big mod will be the Roush blower. Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can convince the Missus that we really, really need this...?

Andy

Looks good I would have never thought that the Roush brakes would have fit on those wheels

Looks awesome!! I was thinking about you, wondering if you resolved the spacing issue (and if you had a great time skiing out here in CO!) What do you think?? Do you like the difference in the way the brakes feel?

BTW- I might be able to help you with the Roush blower... my head unit is for sale I'll PM you more details.

Sweet, thanks for confirming that those wheels will clear the big brakes.

I think I pick up a used set somewhere, for ahem...other uses....

Those Bullitts look just like my Ford factory 18" polished aluminum rims...is that what they are?

I'm curious, because I was also thinking about doing the brake upgrade....from StopTech rather than Roush....and was wondering if my rims would still work or not with the upgrade.

So, you used some 1" wheel spacers? And where did you get the spacers?

Thanks for the info!

Hi Kandy. Yes, had a fantastic time skiing in CO. Steamboat was really cool, I loved the way they leave so much of it un-groomed Mixed feelings about Winter Park though. Loved Mary-Jane, but hated the 1 hour lift lines, so in the end we took ourselves over to Copper Mountain for the last couple of days, which has always been one of my favorite hills!

Re the brakes, yes they feel great, although I have not really had the chance to put them through their paces properly!

I really appreciate you thinking of me with regards to the s/c, but it may be a while before I get round to doing it, and when I do I kinda have my heart set on the polished one.

I'll let you know more when I have had a chance to get some heat in those brakes

Andy

Yes, you are totally correct re the wheels. They are the 18" polished Bullits fitted as standard to my Cali Special, which is why I wanted to keep them, so as to maintain the look.

These are the spacers I used
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/25mm-...spagenameZWDVW
and the reason I used these is because one of the guys over here fitted them on his car when he upgraded his brakes to the 14" Brembos from the GT500. He has had them on for over a year, and although he has his car on the track on a regular basis, as yet reports no issues.
FYI, you could probably get away with a half inch spacer, the wheel would still clear the calipers, but it leaves no room for the stick on balancing weights.

Thanks for confirming the rims and the ebay info! I've still got some digging to do, as far as complete info on the rims and upgrading my brakes, but your info and all info is appreciated!

Your car is looking fantastic! I'm sure you turn heads where ever you go!

For the Roush blower just say it would be so embarassing to be slower then a Camaro that it could send you into mid life crisis, or just insane.

That's funny, but you just know the next question will be "whats a camaro?"
I've asked this question of a few people now, and the general consencus seems to be that the best method of persuasion would be something that included a large diamond!
