Just another Roush dress up project. Thanks to all for ideas

Just another Roush dress up project:

1)I have the Roush billet swing arms installed, I polished those to a mirror like finish and painted in the Roush logo. Took about an hr and 20 min to install. The Roush swing arms are a lot lighter and considerably stronger than stock.

    2) I have the Scott Drake hood lifts polished, I painted the machined reliefs in the brackets Vista blue. It took me about 16 hrs to polish the brackets and SS struts to a mirror finish, lot of work but worth the effort.

    3) I purchased the unpainted radiator extensions from Mid West Auto gear and I painted them Vista blue, I opted to sand blast and prime and sand and prime and sand and sand some more until I got the glass smooth finish in the photos. At the same time I painted the complete air inlet assembly and brackets, the problem is the paint is a perfect match but looks way way better than any other Vista blue part on my car including the body.

    4) I had the blower inlet tube, valve covers and the front blower alternator bracket Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coated by the same people that do the Roush blower http://www.americanpvd.com/ some good info in a post I made explaining everything you ever wanted to know about coatings and why my car has been down for two months. http://www.fnsweet.com/forums/showth...powder+coating I have got to say that if you don’t want chrome but want the look just trust me, what you want is the PVD coating, end of story.

    5) I had the strut tower brace ceramic coated as American PVD can only do 24” X 24” parts, the results are a chrome/polished aluminum finish that I’m very pleased with. http://www.moorepower.com/

    6) I installed the Roush vent gauge adapters with AutoMeter Carbon fiber gauges, the light color will be off but I liked the carbon look to go with the dash, I don’t drive my car at night so the color of the lights was not important to me.

    7) I installed the Track Pak fire extinguisher in the same spot as on the Track Packs.

I would be showing completed photos but as my luck would have it one of my valve coves got damaged in shipping due to packing , American PVD jumped in and is sending out a complete set of “new valve covers” to replace the ones that got damaged. I really like doing business with American PVD and I have been told by the owner who personally called to apologize for the screw up on my valve covers that they can now do our used Roush parts now. They really did not like doing used parts in their Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) set up because of contamination.

I have got thank all that have posted photos and info on their cars as I copied what a lot of you have done, thank you.

    Finished photos will follow soon.

Wow Lee!! Everything looks FANTASTIC!! Congrats on a job well done. Maybe one of these days I can see it all in person, I love the things you've done and well, yeah - I'm a little partial to Vista Blue!!

Where did you get the strut tower brace coated? I had been thinking about doing this too!

Wow, that is a lot of work. It is outstanding. I would love to see the completed photos once it is all installed. The workmanship looks to be excellent.

    Bad-ass would be an understatement.

Thanks for the compliments, but like I said, most of you have provided me with the ideas I applied to my car.

IKandy, the place that did the ceramic coating on my strut tower brace http://www.moorepower.com/ they charged me $125.00 to do the bar, a little more expensive than powder coating but better, you can wet sand with 1500 grit and 2000 then use aluminum polish to buff it to a chrome like finish.

    Redfire427,
Your complete pulley set is next.

    Thanks,
    Lee

Here is a photo showing the back side of the Mid West Auto gear radiator extension cover. I did not want the hole where the prop rod went so I fiber glassed and vacuum bagged cured the provided plug into the extension, I then filled the money side with the black CPVC glue from Lowes, I tried other fillers but none worked, the plastic is actually CPVC so that really worked well and was easy to sand flat.

Wow doesn't seem like the appropriate wording, but guess it'll have to do. Fantastic results. I too can't wait to see the complete package. Hurry up with the pics.

It is almost done, I clay bared the paint and applied 1 coat of 3M scratch remover before moving to the Zaino, so far this week I have 6 coats of Z-5, 6 coats of Z-6, 2 coats of Z-2, 2 coat of Z-8 and have 4 more coats of Z-2 and Z-8 to go on this week, the doors, hood, trunk, motor and the entire belly of the car have received 2 coats of Z-5, the rims will have a total of 5 coats of Z-2 inside and out. The interior has had the Zaino leather treatment with Z-9 and Z-10 as well as the carbon getting 2 coats of Z-2, all the glass got a coat of Zaino glass compound then Z-2 inside and out. The photos do not even come close to showing what this car looks like, I wish I could get a photo but you can read the wattage on the light bulb above the hood in the garage, I’m just astonished and floored with the results I have gotten out of the full Zaino line.

It is all in the details.

    Interior.

Outside and it is overcast today.

Look at the lights, I wish I could capture what this really looks like.

    The best for last.

I can only think of one suggestion to make to that engine compartment...Carmen's pulleys...that would be a nice finishing touch...because that is one sexy under hood pic....

Where did you get the carbon fiber for the pass side air bag? The only ones I have seen go opposite the Roush direction and yours appear to go the same way as the rest of the pieces.

    AZRoushStang,
Thanks. Yes the pulleys will be next, then this fall I will be sending the intake, alt, alt bracket to the same place that chromed the blower parts. I got the carbon from Street Smart Design @ 586-992-0607, they will ask which way your carbon runs when you order.
