Just another Roush dress up project:
1)I have the Roush billet swing arms installed, I polished those to a mirror like finish and painted in the Roush logo. Took about an hr and 20 min to install. The Roush swing arms are a lot lighter and considerably stronger than stock.
2) I have the Scott Drake hood lifts polished, I painted the machined reliefs in the brackets Vista blue. It took me about 16 hrs to polish the brackets and SS struts to a mirror finish, lot of work but worth the effort.
3) I purchased the unpainted radiator extensions from Mid West Auto gear and I painted them Vista blue, I opted to sand blast and prime and sand and prime and sand and sand some more until I got the glass smooth finish in the photos. At the same time I painted the complete air inlet assembly and brackets, the problem is the paint is a perfect match but looks way way better than any other Vista blue part on my car including the body.
4) I had the blower inlet tube, valve covers and the front blower alternator bracket Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coated by the same people that do the Roush blower http://www.americanpvd.com/ some good info in a post I made explaining everything you ever wanted to know about coatings and why my car has been down for two months. http://www.fnsweet.com/forums/showth...powder+coating I have got to say that if you don’t want chrome but want the look just trust me, what you want is the PVD coating, end of story.
5) I had the strut tower brace ceramic coated as American PVD can only do 24” X 24” parts, the results are a chrome/polished aluminum finish that I’m very pleased with. http://www.moorepower.com/
6) I installed the Roush vent gauge adapters with AutoMeter Carbon fiber gauges, the light color will be off but I liked the carbon look to go with the dash, I don’t drive my car at night so the color of the lights was not important to me.
7) I installed the Track Pak fire extinguisher in the same spot as on the Track Packs.
I would be showing completed photos but as my luck would have it one of my valve coves got damaged in shipping due to packing , American PVD jumped in and is sending out a complete set of “new valve covers” to replace the ones that got damaged. I really like doing business with American PVD and I have been told by the owner who personally called to apologize for the screw up on my valve covers that they can now do our used Roush parts now. They really did not like doing used parts in their Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) set up because of contamination.
I have got thank all that have posted photos and info on their cars as I copied what a lot of you have done, thank you.
Finished photos will follow soon.
