Question Binding sound

When I leave the garage in either 1st or reverse I get a sound, it's like something is breaking loose. I always park the car with the emergency brake on. I'm thinking it has something to do with the emergency brake, but not sure. Sound comes from the front of the car. Wondering if anyone else hears this?

I get that as well. It's just the rotor breaking loose from the pad. It usually happens after a wash and the car is parked for a few days with the pad and rotor wet with a few drops of water. Nothing to worry about.

I have been hearing a sound coming from the front end of mine since new. I only hear it when I backup out of a parking space with the wheels turned. It kinda of sounds like a ball joint pop. I have had it to ford. They said eveything looks ok and even re-torqed the entire front of the car. I keep asking them if it could be the upper strut mounts, and they reassure me it is not. Who knows??

The shiny rotors will collect a flash rust on them, as the car sets overnight and moisture from the air collects on the cool metal. You'll also get it after a washing your rims. I get the "breaking loose" sound on both my Mustang and my 92 Taurus SHO, when they sit with the park brake on.

It's normal, so not to worry.

Dont know if this might help but re check the Sway bar end links for tightness. They can be tight but check with a 19mm socket you might want to pull the front wheels to access these swaybar end link(where it attaches to the struts). Also check the lower link part to just to be sure. My Roush started doing this pop sound and this was what it was.
I dont know if this is your problum but might be worth a check.

Also check the bolts that hold the rack on. The tie rod angle deveation from C/L of the rack is quite a bit and causes the rack to move up and down therby creeking and poping when you turn from lock to lock.
