Cool Roush TVS Installed

Finally have a few pics to post. Props to Bill at Stage 3 for his help in gaining me a polished TVS from Roush; to Steve at Exotic Kustoms for the sweet install and custom pieces; to Jim and Chris at JDM for trying help with a few issues; and to Carmen for the beautiful pulley's, and the blower pulley to come. The car already took 2nd in a medium sized show and it isn't even finished.

Looks good.....is that a Canton tank and P/S reservoir? Are you going to do the intercooler tank? I am thinking about doing them on the GT 500. Are you happy with them?

The Canton tanks are hand polished and I also have a powder coated 8 qrt. road race one for the oil pan. I will do something about the intercooler tank soon. The GT 500 intercooler tank, on our cars, replaces the battery, so I'm not sure yet if that's what I want to do. If you asking if I'm happy with the polished tanks, hell yes!! And, more to come...

Unfortunatly, that's still a work in progress. The 1st dyno had it at 415hp 450tq to the wheels. With boost at 16 that's about a 100 too low. I'm getting high intake temps which is pulling timing to just 9 degrees, so my power levels aren't even close to what they should be. We thought the intercooler pump might be off, but it checked out. So, we're still trying to find the culpret.

Dave,
I didn't know that the TVS supercharger kit came with a hood delete option, or is that just a Texas-size cold air intake? LOL

That must have been a lot of painstaking work to do that conversion. It looks awesome. Congrats for taking your ride to the next level. I'm sure in no time, you will have all the bugs worked out and will have some huge power gains to brag about. It is ironic that there have been quite a few posts lately about relatively low power output from the TVS. Just growing pains I guess.

Thanks for posting the great pictures, looks awesome.

Even with the hood off it's too hot. I love Texas, but not July through September. Next purchase will be a ram air w/heat extractors, plus big exchanger and move to North Pole.

That would make us neighbors. The air up here is great for horsepower. My car goes on the dyno tomorrow morning and the air should be around 15C (62 F) so that should make my 427R scream.

Carmen,

Although your summers are like my winters, has your Steeda heat exchanger made a difference?

Well, I'm pretty sure my problem isn't the TVS itself. I'm still hunting the problem down, but in the meantime... boy does that TVS sing. I have yet to floor it on the street, because anything close to WOT causes the car to leave controlled flight. Once I correct the issue with high intake temps I'll have to re-evaluate my driving skills in an effort to stay alive. Some folks have reported 10 second qtr mile passes with the TVS and a few bolt-ons. Now that's amazing!

My current numbers are in this thread: TVS installed and running!!

As you can see from the dyno sheet, I'm having a problem with heat pulling timing. Don't know why that's happening yet, but when fixed both hp and trq should be closer to or more than 500 to the wheels.
