Question about price...07 stage 3

Hello, I'm new here. Don't hate me because of the screen name, I just have a question for you guys. I have a friend who is looking at a "new" 07 Roush stage 3 on a dealer lot. I haven't seen it, but he says the sticker is around 51. Being that it is about 2 years old now (although it only has about 90 miles and hasn't been registered) what would be a good price for him to offer? He wants to get it on Monday if the price is right.

Thanks for any help

Being blind on many aspects of the car, I have to share that on the surface of it the price sounds really high. You can buy new Stage 3's at well less than that as dealers are bargaining hard.

I would think that the car should sell in the low $40,000 neighborhood at most but that is just me

Somebody posted up that a dealership had a 07 "new" Stage 3 for like $35 about week ago.

Check Ebay. Looks like they are dumping '08 and '07 demos for 35k. A new one I would think might require a small bump. I would think anything close to 40k is too much.
Try 35k and work up by $500 increments from there.
I'm hardcore if your friend has waited 2 years for an '07 S3, he could offer $35k on Monday and walk away. If the dealer thinks he can move it he'll come down. Or call you back. Time is on your friends side, and remember the golden rule: He with the gold makes the rules.

A point, besides the fact it is a 2 year old car to bargain with is where was it stored for the past 2 years? Hopefully not outside in sun, rain and bird crap (without a coat of wax). Also get the dealer to put in a new battery as part of the sale. Motorcraft battery's are only good for 2 years, 3 if your lucky.

Good luck!

Jack

My guess is around $35-38 too...doesn't hurt to show how serious a buyer you are then hold firm on your price for a while... I made my son in law walk out on a pretty good deal for his DD Mazda3 a couple years ago...I said watch, the will call YOU! 2 hrs. later they did & said ok come & get it...he saved about $2k!!!

I agree on the Motorcraft batteries... most of mine lasted 37 months! One past any warranty...although the one in my 2002 F150 is 6 years old now almost 7...

I got mine about 8 or 9 months ago for 36 + fees and tx 10000 miles i think your friend should offer like 28 or 30 and work up from there and good luck.

Yup - there are 2 '08 stage 3s for sale at $34,999 - saw them yesterday next to my new '09 GT500.

You could fly in and drive home for $500.

They are in North Jersey - Morristown, probably only a 3.5 hr drive for you.

Thanks for the replies, I'll tell him to offer 35, or to look for the ones in N.J. for that price. They were talking yesterday about 42,900 being as low as they can go, but you know how that works.

Thanks again

If the car is a 07 I am sure they would be very interested at a price around $35K... The car is NOW 2 model years old.

I agree with the rest of the FnFamily - 35k is about right, 40k would be TOPS and it better be mint with nice mods to even consider it. If the dealer won't deal, tell your buddy to walk away, then come back here and we'll help him find a great deal on a Roush!

This is a helpful bunch and we can get some feelers out there for him.

Hope that helps and let us know how it all went!
