P-51b

Just left a car show at the local Ford dealer...was told they are making a P-51b...only 51 are being made. Anyone else hear about this? I told the dealership I hadn't seen anything on it, and he said it was just announced this week. He has one on order already for a customer.

Oh, by the way...Jerry took 1st in the modified division with his track Pak and the P-51 took first in Popular Vote...will post pics later.

I had heard the the P-51B will come with 6 piston calipers and the black Roush wheels and painted on 510hp on the hood, there is one on ebay right know but the pics shown are for the P-51A. Just found the link here is more info

Jack had told Jerry when we say him in April that he was thinking about doing some of the track pak stuff on the next P-51....so I guess the black wheels, brakes, and instrument pods...is from the track pak.

Jerry was hoping it would be the suspension stuff that they put on the next P-51...he loves the way the track pak handles!

My wife and I were parked next to Jerry's Track Pak and Mrs. Supersnake was on the other side, next to Jerry! They sure have so nice cars!!! The Joe Cooper Car show had a lot of nice looking Mustangs there-Roush Blackjacks and even a Shelby Super Snake. I would guess around 120-125 cars. My wife & I took the Sponsors- (Joe Cooper) -Best of Show!!! A really nice Crystal- Glass Trophy. Not bad for our old 07-427R Vert!!! Most people I talked to really liked our new Carbon Fiber Valve covers.
I didn't hear about the new P-51b as my wife and I were passing out flyers about us having our moving auction ! We are selling almost all of our Shop & Office equipment from our Old Classic Mustang Parts and Restoration bus.- BJMustangs in Muskogee on Thursday,Oct. 9th.
Sure wish Roush would make some aftermarket parts for our 427R that wouldn't "VOID" the warranty!!!!

When the P-51 was first coming out, Robert B. had explained to me that they were going to introduce newer versions each year, the A model then B and so on. He had also said that they had toyed around with the idea of the HP increasing as each came out.

Well they could easily claim 550 to 560 rwhp on them. If my dads put down 504 at the wheels with the update Roush Tune.

Yep roush inc. told us only 1 per dealer. And is a fact only 51 will be made. We ordered #51 but still unknown which one is coming. The p51b's are a little higher. $69k.
The rims are black chrome, and the B will keep the vapor color.
510hp still. And yes are B is sold already.

Talked with the a rep this AM, He said few suttle changes inside brakes and belt changes on the front of the motor to help with belt and tensioner problems sounds like there will be 2 belts on them now.

For all you P51 "Mustang" purists, I was surprised to recently learn that the infamous fighter planes where manufactured by North American Aviation (a subsidiary of General Motors). (It was mentioned in an article reporting on GM's celebration of 100 years).

With respect to a B series - that would be consistent with the planes history. In fact, there were several variants of the P51 Mustang, designated 51A, 51B, 51C, 51D, 51K; A-36 Apache/Invader, etc.
