Potentiallly Badass, or Just Bad....

A friend of mine just bought a '05 GT and like everyone else on this planet, he's looking to upgrade his exhaust first. There are plenty of mufflers with different tones to fit your needs but my uncle has a '68 with "tubular-racing mufflers" out the sides....has anyone tried this on the new ones?

The issue with that is the chassis on the 05+ cars is so low. You have no clearance there. This is why most exhaust systems, and the stock Ford, have the muffler at the far rear. The mufflers at the back is also why the 05+ cars have a bad drone problem from the exhaust. The drone is a VERY annoying bass like sound around 1800- 2200 rpm range.
