Tow Hooks to fit 428R???

I am new to the site, ran across FnSweet while looking for information on Roush's...and after lurking around for a week I would say this group seems to have just a few Roush enthusiast's

My girlfriend and I just picked up a 428R It's my 3rd Mustang but as they say " save the best for last"..

I am lookiing for a bit of help here?? I need to mount a set of tow hooks/race eyes on the car without cutting up the Roush bummper cover. Have any of you Ladies or Gents found a "Factory Look" set that will fit the S3 front end?? I have searched the Roush ,FRPP and most of the other racing gear sites without much luck so any help on this would be great.

Welcome to the FnFamily! Haha, glad you found us and yes, there are just a *few* of us Roush fans around here. As you have already no doubt discovered, this is a pretty active community!

Not sure about your question but I'm sure somebody will chime in with some help for you. Nice pics!! I love VAPOR! Glad they made you a "package deal" on your purchases.

Welcome again,
Kandy

My husband has tow hooks on his Track Pak and nothing had to be cut into. The front one fits between the front facia and the back one is behind the tag. He is out of town right now, but I will ask him the brand when he gets back. We are also going to put them on the P-51.

Mrs. Supersnake - Thanks for the help. I like the way you guys installed them, looks great. I would love to know what parts you used and how you mounted them.

Can't be sure but the hook looks like the Ford Racing part??

And BTW, a Trak Pak & P-51 is quite the stable....we looked very hard at the Trak Pak, and came close to getting one, but my girlfriend just didn't like the red one, and it was the ONLY T-pak on the west coast. So we found this one and I will just have to upgrade the suspention, brakes,,, and wing LOL. Do you guys track the car??

Welcome. Nice 428R, wouldn't it be car # 64 of 200 from Frontier Ford, Santa Clara, CA? I was down there this summer and they had it there, if thats it.

Red - thanks for the welcome...

The car is #116 of 200, Roush# 08-00700 and was originaly sold by Future Ford of Roseville CA

I found it at the Buick/Caddilac dealer in the Roseville Auto mall. Only had 1300 miles on it ..... I figure that the power of the car scared the original owner.....or it was the gas bill....either way it worked out great for us.

As soon as Jerry gets back from CO I will find out what parts...and yes...he does track it every chance he gets...that is what he bought it for! All Roush's are built to handle the track and Jerry has run all of our cars at one time or another on the track...but after riding in the TP with the engineer that built the suspension...well...that was all it took...he had to have a TP

Good God - I am in real trouble here...I spent ALL day prowling around in the forums and got ABSOLUTLY NOTHING done today This site is great LOL....

I have to agree with you Mrs. Supersnake that the Roush's are definetly built for the road course's...I had the chance ride in a TP around Thunder Hill with David Ray at the wheel and again around Laguna Seca with Derik Hill ( its then you realize the speed diference betwine a mortal and a driving pro )and the way the cars handle is just awsome. Its the best handling mustang I have ever driven...

I started out with a '88 Fox GT and built that one up myself, at the time it was both a canyon carver and weekend warrior at the un-official drags.....then after that one passed on I got my hands on a '97 Cobra that Steeda had worked over, all the suspention goodies, brakes with braided lines and full cage. Had to sell that one and never really forgave myself...UNTILL NOW

The Roush suspention blows the other cars away, and since it will be primarlly our track car it going to get the works....yeah it has the big rotors but needs the 6 pot calipers and cooling ducks.....and, and....and......$$$$$$$

We will have it out to Sears Point for 2 days the first weekend of Oct, the first time I will have had the car on the track, so we will see how it works out.

I know it's short notice but there's a good group running Thunderhill this weekend. Pre-registration is not required, just show up

I've been thinking about putting them on since last year, but not sure where you could buy them or how you could mount them so it'll would still look nice. Nice job there Cherie.

Thanks for the invite and its very tempting...what group is it & whats the cost for the day?? T-hill is our fav, but have not been out there since the re-pave. I have heard from several buddies that the surface is great but the new curbs are brutal......will need pics for sure

Welcome to the SITE!

I have not seen tow hooks (till the post above). I have been to several track days with my S3 and didn't need any tow hooks for it. I even spun before and went off track but was able to drive out. There is a video of that somewhere on here.

I have upgraded my S3 suspension with just about everything I could get. I even took out the S3 shock and springs for the Trac-Pac kit. The car handles really well, and I am keeping up with Evos, Porsches, and other cars on the track.
