CAI + 2.57 Pulley + Custom Tune - Give me your thoughts...

Hey all,

I've been reading quite a bit trying to come up with a solid safe/sustainable upgrade to my 427R and this seems to be where I would like to start. I have had problems in the past overtuning an '02 Lightning so want to take this one slow. I am going to use either a Roush or Steeda CAI with the 2.57 and then get things dyno tuned after the PCM updates are flashed in.

All of you who are running this setup, what are your thoughts? As long as I keep the a/f ratio in the 11.5-11.9 range should I be cool? What else should I be aware of? Any help/input you can give me would be great. Thanks.

Anthony

There a multitudes of us who have done this to their cars. I can speak for myself that it is a necessary change to get more guts from your M90.

I couldn't tell you the spec's/results specifically for mine but I can tell you that MOST of the folks who advertise on this site (Performance Shops) can most definitely give you the details and tunes to fit your needs.

just do it. it is a proven combo that is a must for anyone who want to maximize the performance of your ROUSH. it makes the car feel like it should have from the factory. it turns a "fun crazy" car into a "scare your mother, all but wet your pants, cops are afraid of you, crazy" car

lol thanks guys. just trying to follow a logical path - after toasting a Lightning block w/ 5,000 miles on it after adding just a CAI, diablosport chip and underdrive pulley Im taking this one a little slower. looks like this is a lock though. time to make a couple phone calls...

I have the 2.57 pulley from Carmen here on the site and it's sweet.
I would suggest the Steeda intake as it looks better.

We here at BBR offer our 2.57 pulley upgrade kit.

That includes BBR 2.57 Pulley and 90mm Idler Pulley. We also recommend the Steeda CAI and then you'll obviously need a hand held tuner.
