    importing 427r roush into Canada

    Hello all
Has anyone imported a roush mustang into canada in the last few years.
If so can anyone tell me how they went about it. I am having trouble with transport Canada allowing the mustang in because they do not recognize it
I need to find out Who to talk to at roush to get a compliance letter.

I dont think you have to get anything from Roush at all...When I tried to get my bike over here to sell it all they asked for was a letter stating there were no recalls and if there were that they were performed...

what exactly is transport canada? is it govt. not allowing you to import or is it a transport company hauling your car? When I was bringing my bike over I never heard anything of a transport canada...

    NM got it...

When I looked into buying my 427R from Tennesee, I looked into this matter completely. I too, am a Canuck. You need to fill out the paperwork from the RIV ( registrar of imported vehicles. ) You need to get a document to says there are no recalls on the vehicle. I'm sure you could get one from Ford as well as Roush. I ended up buying mine in Ontario and never had to finalize all the paperwork.

Good luck on finding out the info you need, and also I hope you find the deal you are looking for.

    Bad-ass would be an understatement.

when i contated riv they said that they only recognize a mustang gt and not a roush so they told me to contact transport canada (govt )to get the ok .safety compliance because of the roush modifications. What i do not understand is they sale them in canada at ford dealer and other people have also imported them this is not the first time they have been imported.
Waiting to hear back from transport canada.

I thought about that but if you hit any snags along the way importing it they can make you take it back to the state. Then I have to sell it down there and hope to get my money back. That would be a big hassle.

Just call Roush and ask them for a recall notice safety notice or what not and have them fax it to you...just like you did with the ford documents...

I did ask roush for a letter stating that the car meet all safety standers but the said that they would not for legal reason! Maybe I have not found the right person at roush to talk to. If any one know someone at roush that could make this happen that would be great. Any help at this piont would be great I feel like I am bashing my head against a wall trying to get the ok.
It really should be simple I think I just have to find the right people to talk to
    I have talked to riv,transport canada,ford canada,ford usa,and roush.

Yes this seems over complicated...It should be just as easy as saying hey I need a fax so I can import my car to canada...Try calling Roush and speaking to everyone there until you get the person who know what they are doing...

We bought a new Blackjack last fall in Nevada filled out a RIV, got a letter from Ford saying all recalls were completed and drove it home. The SN says its a Ford GT there is nothing at all on any paper work saying its a Roush. We had the daytime running lights turned on by a dealer up here and had to take it to Canadian Tire so they could check that the lights came on and the speedometer had kilometers on it that all we needed to get registered.

The total time spent at the boarder was less then 1/2 hour they didn't even come out and look at the car they were more worried if I was bringing cigarettes or beer across than the car.

I know of six Roush cars or trucks brought across last year and there were no problems with any of them. If you are worried at all you can use broker they know what they are doing and the cost is not much at all.

Did you get the Ford recall letter prior to taking the car to the border? Did you have any Canadian Government paperwork filled out prior to getting to the border? So they don't even look at the car, so there is no problem with them seeing the supercharged engine. They dont ask if the car has been modified?

Yes you have to have all of the paper work at the border crossing 72 hours before you bring the car across. We had to stop on the US side and get the certificate of title stamped took about 10 minutes no problems there but this was a new car not sure if this has to happen if you are buying used.

The recall letter is called a oasis report we got ours from the dealer I also called Ford and they sent me a copy also. You just have to make sure there are no outstanding recalls that are not completed.

The people at the border could have cared a less if it was supercharged or not as I said they did not even look at he car. I thought for sure they would check SN or something after they stamped the papers they asked where the car was I said outside in the parking lot and all he said was ok you can go.

I did use a broker and there fee was less then $450 well worth it in my opinion everything went so smooth.

Man...this is worse then our Government. Yet another reason Jerry won't go to Canada...biggest reason...he can't take his gun with him and now you can't get a Roush across the border.

Hope it all works out for you...Good Luck! Keep us posted and when you finally get it into Canada...we must have pictures.

I am being told by transport canada now that I need an engineer report from roush that states that a Us roush does or can meet canadian standers. This is getting out of hand if 2007 mustang gt is allowed into canada and you throw on the 427 package wich is sold in canada what is the deal.
I have details of other us 427 for sale in canada that were imported into canada. Boy did I go about this the wrong way.
