Brake Question? Which one?

I found a site I can get the GT500 14" kit for my car for 1K that comes with lines, and pads for the rear that are like the link below.

Ford Racing GT500 Brake Upgrade

But I also I like these due to the fact they are 6 piston and come in my car color, WWMW do?

1788.00

Baer Brakes 6 piston FRONT Pro-Plus kit - 4261211

Should I get the Vista Blue to match my car or go with traditional red / black?

You can find the GT500 kit cheaper on eBay, I have heard of people finding it around $750-$800. Might be worth looking around. Thats a good price on the Baer kit though. Between the GT500 kit at $1300 and the Baer at $1800 I would get the Baers. But getting the GT500 kit cheaper makes it a nice deal too.

I just looked on ebay, cheapest GT500 kit is $850, but it says calipers, so I wonder if rotors are included. Would have to get the SS lines separate. There is a complete kit for $1000.

Ebay is your best bet for the GT500's, I've purchased 2 sets of take offs- the most recent was last month, they had 0 miles on them- complete still assembled on the spindles, included even the ABS rings, and sensors, dust shields- $670 with shipping...

eBay is where I saw them for 1k and that is the cheapest I have seen them. I have seen take off kits cheaper, but they are all dinged up these are brand new in the box complete kit.

I like the baer but I just don't know if I will get the use out of the extra 800.00 for that kit. Plus for 800 I can upgrade the GT500 kit to the Steeda kit. So I might get the kit on eBay for 1K.

Have any of you guys tracked them and how well did they work out?

I'd get the GT500 setup and paint them red. IMHO the 6 piston Baer is on the side of overkill for a street car.

The Baer comes with the two piece rotors.(two piece better heat displacement)
The GT500 I believe are a one piece rotor.
Myself Baer's or Roush are my choice.
Nothing wrong with Better Brakes there is no OVERKILL.

If you are going to get the Steeda upgrade for $800 on top of the $1000 for the GT500 kit then you might as well get the Baer kit to begin with. There is not much benefit to getting the slotted steeda rotors, but the two piece rotors in the Baer kit are a nice upgrade. The Baer 6 piston calipers are probably considerably better than the 4 piston Brembos as well. I dont think there is much to gain by going with the larger rear rotors in the Steeda kit either, they still have the same single piston caliper.

You should be able to find the gt500 kit for 600. Got mine for less and came with everything. The rotors are a one piece.

I agree. The only downside is the GT500 brakes are very heavy compared to the "stock" brakes.

Cheapest I could find the GT500 was 1K, but I have decided to just wait and get the Baer brakes. I like them and like others said I think the Baer would be a better system and I think I will spring for the Vista Blue ones.

I got my Saleen brake kit on ebay for 950 bucks shipped. Same brakes as the Roush which is a Stoptech kit. With the savings I added rear stainless steel lines to go with that.

Than you're not looking hard enough !!

GT500 front calipers, rotors, pads, and dust shields can be had for $700-800 all day long. It's a deal when you can get a set for $500-600.
