    Tranny fluid change

Changing my tranny fluid to Penn Synchromesh. Without dropping the tranny and clutch, is there a way to get most of the old fluid out?

Should be a drain plug on the bottom according to the shop manual.

let me know the synchromesh works out for you? I am considering either this or the GM synchromesh or the AMSOIL to improve the notchy shifting

I guess I wasn't too clear when I started this post. I'm aware of drain plug. The fluid has been draining for a day now. Was just wondering if there was a way to get what is in the lines, etc.

No need to get that overboard with it, draining it from the drain plug is fine. I went with the Syncromesh and couldn't be happier with it. You'll need a fluid pump to get the new oil up into the fill hole, I made one using an old fuel primer ball and fuel line from an outboard motor.

Lines!!?? We don't have lines...unless you have an automatic transmission...

To get rid of the notchiness, you need Red Line D4 fluid...

Well I sort of wondered why you'd be asking, but you never know, and I just wanted to share the link! There shouldn't be too much in there beyond what's in the tranny with a manual. It's not like a torque converter in an automatic that stores a bunch of fluid. As soon as it warms up I'm going to Penzoil Synchromesh as well. I'm not buying ANY thing GM!
