    Roush Hood Scoop

I just completed an install of the Roush Hood Scoop. Overall the scoop adds the look I wanted, but what I can't seem to look past are gaps in the front of the scoop after install. Torq'd all bolts to 20in/lbs and used provide double sided tape... followed install perfectly. After all bolts were tight, 7 total, the very front on both sides have a noticable gap.

Is this just a design flaw and do all Roush scoops present these gaps? Or is this just something you get when adding the scoop as an add-on rather then having Roush do it from new.

Curious what others have done to rememdy this.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

Where are the pics????????????? lol, The Manager of our San Mateo store has an 07 Stage 2 and his does not have a gap. You might need to do a little trimming to make the scoop fit the contour of the hood better!!

Stupid question, are there different types of hood scoops for the 05-09 mustang that came from the factory depending on the model you bought??

I had this problem from the dealer. What I Did was opened up the holes in the hood just a little bit with a drill bit. I dont think the Roush template is spot on and puts the scoop in sort of A bind. Hope this helps.

The scoop I have is part of the roush body kit, but I am thinking that because it wasn't added by Roush there might be some shaping required. Although it is painted to match it almost looks like the scoop wasn't prep'd properly before painting. From what I understand Roush didn't paint it, the place I bought it from sent it in. That might be the issue?

Anyhow, going to consider removing it and working the front area that is causing the gaps. I think a minor sanding would close the gap.

    roush281cust,

never thought about that?! Think I will try that first. Just have to see getting more double sided tape.

    Thanks and much appreciated

    Cheers
