    shortblock storage

Ok, after not being able to find a deal on trading in my 10' on a 12' I did find a great deal on a JDM stroker block for $3500. Only problem is I'm not ready to install it. I want to do several things at that time and need to wait before I spend another 8k on this money pit. Plus my stock block should have plenty of life left in it.

Jim told me for storage to rub oil on the cylinder walls and hand turn the crank about every 6 months. Which leads to my questions

    1. How do you get all the pistons down to oil the entire cylinder wall?
    2. How do you hand crank, I know thats a newb questions but I want to make sure I'm doing it right
    3. Anything else besides those 2 things and keeping it wrapped up of course.

Just spray them down with oil, the oil will reach down through the rings.
The way to hand crank is to get a crank pulley bolt and bolt it in and use a breaker bar to turn it over.
Get a storage bag from Summit or JEGs, before you bag it, just spray it down generally on all the exposed metal moving parts.

You can also buy some Silica Gel packs to throw in the bag to keep moisture out.

plastic shrink wrap is also a great way to store it, but if you plan on turning it over every 6 months, your going to have to redo it every time. Its what I do and it works.
