2007 427R rims peeling, different rims???? HELP!

Hey guys.. my 427 R rims are peeling bad! Ive looked into having them re chromed and it doesnt seem worth it. I was wondering what other Roush owners are doing..... Are some of us going away from Roush wheels to some aftermarket wheels? Just trying to get a feel for my options.. New Roush rims beeing $400 each......... then are they going to peel in 4 years????

    thanks in advance

This is a known problem. Several people have had the wheels replaced under warranty. There was a running change in the wheels....The earlier style had bright chrome on the entire wheel and the revised wheel had a sandblasted, satin finish look to it on the inside surface of the wheel. The newer style seems to hold up better but they still have had a few issues. Sucks for the price of these wheels huh? Another option is powder coating them if you like the black or other color look.

I had picked up a set of the FR-500 wheels powder coated silver metalic to match the silver stripes on my 06 and i like them much better than the crome. My Roush crome wheels are also starting to show some signs of peeling on the inside but im so far out of warranty nothing can be done, Its sad with all the documented cases of this failing, peeling crome that no one wants to step up to the plate and replace these across the board this is not " Normal wear and tear" this is failed crome process that won't always show up untill after the warranty time is up.

...worse yet, I've called and left messages for at least 5 different local chrome places who say they rechrome wheels and have heard nothing back. If I can't get a decent price to get them rechromed, I'm going with FRs once my treads wear down.

I got the 20's in chrome in perfect condition. No chrome wear anywhere to be found.. Been on the car since 07. Guess I should start praying.
