1400+ miles round trip is a bit too far.
Sears Point is technical. There's some walls to be concerned with but the bigger issue is the interconnected turns. Screw up the entrance on one turn puts you in the wrong place to enter the next etc. You're playing catch up until the next straight to sort things out.
One lap
Thanks for sharing the video...
I love that track, or should I say, I think I would. I have done many laps around Sears Point on the early Papyrus NASCAR driving PC simultor/game and know what you mean about the S's ("interconnected turns"). If I got behind on the first one turn, it wasn't until turn 10 that I seemed to get it back together. I am glad to see you running the original track and not the NASCAR track. I think I would like that one best.
So, is that a race group your are running with or an open track group? Looks like fun and it looks like you have some of them covered under braking. Is it a very fast track? What is your top speed and where is it on the track? I would like to come up and run this track some day as well as Thunder Hill and Laguna Seca. If I do make it up that way someday, I'll have to look you up...

I'm not in any race group, just open tracking for fun. The closest to racing I get is NASA Time Trials where the results are measured by lap times and not finishing position. I run at four tracks: Thunderhill and Buttonwillow Raceways (No. and So. California SCCA tracks), Laguna and Sears Point. Laguna and Sears are more difficult to get on to because of all the other activities besides club events they book.
I run most often with NorCal Shelby because a lot of my friends run with them almost exclusively (both Foxbodys in that one lap are friends of mine) but I've run with many other clubs as well. Different clubs have different rules, attract different types of cars/drivers, and so on. I usually run in the advanced or experienced group and prefer clubs that filter the yahoos who don't belong in that group.
I'm not sure what the top speeds are. I don't have a speedometer. I'll guess that I don't hit more than 100-110 at Sears Point. Maybe at Thunderhill with its longer and flat front straight I'll hit 120-125 before I start running out of rpms on the motor.
Nice video Steve. That car really sounds beautiful.![]()

Thanks.
A few people have commented that they like the sound of my car and it's purely by chance. Laguna Seca has a very strict maximum sound level policy for almost all open track events (92dB measured 50 ft from track edge). The exhaust setup was picked to stay under the max level and not for the sound.
Not to scare people away from open track events but it is worth checking the track rules to see if they have a maximum sound level. Most do but it can be an extremely high limit of 103dB which even Cup cars should pass. Sometimes it's not the exhaust. I've seen cars fail sound at Laguna for blower whine.
Well i was hoping for more of the S/W FN SWEETER"S to log on and post up.
I will put up a bounty, $100.00 cash for the FN Sweet member who drives the furthest to the GTG
No track time required just show up and have fun!!!!![]()
