Photos of FnSweet-Stage3Motorsports Track Day at Phoenix

Had an awesome time today at Phoenix Firebird Speedway hanging out with Ron, Frank, Bill, John and all the rest of the gang. There were Roush Mustangs or ROUSHcharged Mustangs all over the place. It seems to be the going thing these days

Video: Love the sound of those ROUSHchargers! Hi-Res: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4aqK...layer_embedded

The full photo gallery is here: 2009 FnSweet-Stage3Motorsports Track Day 9-26-09 - Fn-Gallery

Were you the black 427R or the orange one? Either way I missed the chance to say hi and introduce myself. If yours is the black one I have more photos of the car that were not posted yet.

To Everyone that came out, Thank You from all of us at Stage3. We like to see you guys putting those awesome cars out on the Local tracks. Someone said something to me today that really stuck, they said "I own a 12 second Strip car that is Road course ready, and when the day is over, I can turn on the AC, crank up the tunes and head out on the town and turn some heads" not bad for a Roush. Thanks again guys.
    Thanks,

    Hey all,

I am not sure if I got the chance to meet all of you that came out, but thanks for showing. I am glad to hear the positive comments and that you all had a great time. I would have liked to ride with you and coach you a bit but due to my ease of motion sickness, I am not able to.

It was a hot weekend for Ron and I. The temperature was hot too. We had a fun race on Saturday that ended with me spinning off the track on the final lap while leading. Ok, Ron gave it to me with intentions of passing me back before the checker flag. I got into the turn at the end of the straightaway too hot and ended up backwards in the dirt. I was able to get it going right away to retain second place. Rookie mistake.

Sunday, we had a better battle and a whole lot more fun. Ron pulled away from me early in the race but was running hot. He slowed his pace and apparently didn't see me coming. I got around him on the straight and lead for a number of laps. His "monster hp", ok not that much more, and "monster torque", a lot more, paid off at the end of the straightaway and he got inside of me heading into the same turn I was able to pass him at a few laps earlier. He pulled out a few car lengths on me and won the race (again).

Winning is nice, but having fun mixing it up with a good friend and true competitor is the most fun and what it's all about for me. Just knowing that you improved your lap times over the course of the weekend, didn't have any "incidents", and had a good race, well it just doesn't get much better than that.

Congrats Ron on your weekend domination.

I hope that next time more of you fnsweeter's get the chance to come out and have some fun with us. Your ROUSH Mustangs were designed to run on a road course. Try it and you will see for yourself what this great car is all about.

I took some in-car video during Sundays sessions and races. When I get a chance, I'll edit it and post it up. Sorry, the camera was not working when I went around...

BTW, nice pictures and video Shay. Good to see you again. I enjoyed talking to your boy as well. He definitely desires to race someday. And I think he would like a number 12 Mustang... Definitely good taste runs in the family...
