Roush cold air intake and phase kits soon to be released!!

I just recieved and email from Roush Performance Parts today informing me that their Phase kits are almost ready for the 2011-2013 Mustangs! The Phase 1 is already available and what we know as the 575 kit. Well there is a 625 HP kit in the works which uses a Roush cold air intake (see blow) and a Phase 3 kit for 675 HP which comes with a fuel system upgrade (no mention one what it actually is) as well as a smaller pulley and possibly forged internals, which is all very exciting for us. We will be offering the Roush cold air kit with our packages as soon as we can get our hands on them! I am working out a deal with Roush at the moment to place a large purchase order on them so if your interested please contact me here or at 732-780-0770.

    Thanks!

If the development behind the Roush Raybestos 2013 Stage 3 promotion car is any clue it's a KB boost a pump with a Ford Racing Aluminator... Good right up on this car in the Oct. copy of 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords. (not on-line yet I don't believe... only in print)

Yes I got some info on pricing and release seems to be in a few weeks. All the details are being worked out on the pricing of the air intakes through us and Roush right now as they aren't offering them separate. They come with a tune and smaller pulley/belt package. Here are some of the price quotes I did get...

Roush 625 HP upgrade kit $799
includes: Roush Cold air intake, 85mm pulley, Belt, Roush re-flash

Roush 625 HP Supercharger kit $6599
includes: Roush TVS Supercharger, Roush Cold air intake, 85mm pulley, belt, Roush re-flash

Contact JDM engineering for the best pricing available! These are ready for pre order!!

We haven't begun the tuning for the Roush cold air kit but we have been working on the JLT and Whipple 123mm in house. My father who does all our tuning has been tied up in the shop the past few weeks and hasn't gotten completely finished but plans to over the next two weeks!

Does this kit maintain Roush warranty (I still have 34 months and 35,200 miles left of warranty)? I live in California so, would I be able to order it? If not, is there a way to work around it? Thank you for your tme JimIII!

The oem airbox on a 2010 flows 800 cfm with the ford paper air filter, and 980 cfm with a K+N. The box already has a 2.5" x 7.5" snorkel from front of airbox to grille. So it's real cold air..and ram air too. No air is coming from the eng compartment. A cone filter won't buy you anything. Just a new tune alone will wake up the 2010 M90...esp if it's a 93-94 octane tune. The Roush tune leaves a lot to be desired. The Roush tune is for 91 octane with ethanol..and meets California emissions standards....so you know it's sub standard...(throttle response is not good). I installed new Brisk plugs + the FRPP twin 62mm TB. The oem TB has to be removed anyway, to get at the plug right below the tb. Ok, now with the FRPP twin 62mm and K+N, it can now breathe. Both JDM and VMP make a 2.49" press on pulley for the 2010 M90. If you want more, cut the vanes out of the airbox lid.

The 2010 M90 blower has a shorter air tube than the 05-10 M90. That plus the dual 62mm TB + vanes chopped out + smaller pulley + tune.... and VMP depicts 462 rwhp. http://www.vmptuning.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1091 The 2.49" pulley alone will give you 440 rwhp. You get another 7rwhp from the vane removal. And another 15rwhp from the combo of the shorter air tube + bigger TB. As is, stock, you only have aprx 380 rwhp. Just order the JDM stage 4 kit for your 2010 427R....+ a FRPP TB. The vane removal is simple.

I just did all the mods on my 2010 427R that Jimbo mentioned (except for the vanes chopped out of the air box - I wasn't comfortable with turbulent flow over this kind of maf sensor). I used the JDM kit + shelled out the extra coin for the TB. You'll notice on their site the 2010 427R kit doesn't even come with a CAI as it really isn't needed (980 cfm is plenty for this HP). I posted a thread on it a couple weeks back in the 2010-2012 section if you want more info.

I left the vanes intact as well. I added Brisk plugs, K+N filter + the FRPP twin 62mm tb..and a new VMP 94 octane tune. Last friday, the new DSS-DS went in. It's a rocket. I'm still at 5 psi. The 2.49" pulley may yet get installed. Chopping the vanes out with only 5 psi is hardly worth the extra 4 hp @ 6300rpm. Roush put the vanes in there for a reason.... to straighten out the airflow over the MAF sensor. With 8 psi, it may be worth it... then you get another 7 rwhp. I don't need any idle or driveability issues right now.

Oh great ! You gotta be kidding us. I see the 2013 RS3 doesn't have any hood vents, but all the other model's do. The hood vents on the driver's side, closest to the grille, would be a long way off from the air filter. Are you sure about this. I thought all the Roush 2013 cars had a box type CAI..with a panel filter inside them. No way to get water inside those things. Even the shield around a cone filter would be away's away.
