Roush Pre-Ordering Proceedure

Okay, lets say you already know you will buy one of the new 2010 Roushs. When and who does one call to get on the "waiting list"? Let's just say for example that there is a TTV6 model produced and I wanted to get a S3 (given they keep their current modeling profiles), how do I go about that process?

I know there was at least one person who bought a 429R before most of us here knew they were out there so I'm sure you can call in and put your name in before they are even built.

I think this would be good to know for those who want to get in early on the lists.

I can't wait!

Usually things like this are done through a high volume dealer or a dealer who has a really good relationship with the rep.

The only people that I have known to preorder models ( not roush ) are people that are willing to shell out a ton of cash to the dealership to hold the spot for there first one and willing to pay extra alot extra to do so or they have purchased alot of vehicles through that dealer usually on fleet account

When I ordered my car I had to wait until Roush said you can order. This took several months. My car was even ordered on a Stage 2 order sheet, with STAGE 3 written across it. I am guessing that this would be the reason I waited 7 MONTHS to get the car, and why Roush WOULDN'T initially buid it. A couple of guys ordered cars the week after I did, and got their cars several weeks before I did.

Bottom line, Your best bet right now is to wait and see. You really can't order anything right now. I bet a dealership would be happy to take a down payment from you though, then try and sell you something else.

It's easiest to go through a dealer who has a dedicated Roush rep. They usually have a close relationship with Roush and can give you accurate info. They are Roush dealers out there who really have no clue what they are even selling. The first 427R that I test drove was from a dealer like that. The rep opened the decklid to show me the trunk space and said " wonder what's in that big box?" It would have served them right if someone would have removed that "big box" during a test drive!

I went to the local dealer here a few months before the p51a was released. I put a deposit on it. The dealer told me since they were a big Roush seller they should get at least one P51A but if they didn't, I could get my deposit back . They called me as soon as it came off the truck so I ran down and bought it

Thumbs up

I'M not sure on the preordering of the 2010 mustang. I was lucky on getting the 429R we were in the dealership at the right time. As far as paying over msrp for the 429R that did not happen either. when we ordered it the owner told us he would sell it to us for $500 below MSRP. When we came in to take delivery on the car I asked if there were any rebates thinking no way on a 09 mustang. The salesmen Jim went and ask the sales manager and he came back with another $1500 off, we paid $2,000 less then MSRP for are 09 429R.

They came off MSRP on my 428R pretty heavy and also threw in a $2K rebate plus another $1K rebate for using Ford credit.

Yeah I would make contact with one of the Roush Reps. Steve Ford is the East Coast Rep. Just call Roush Performance and they will get a message to him and he will hook you up. Or you can go through a dealer. I would say the rep way would be better though.

no discount came off of the roush package, discount came off the base mustang , which everyone gets. your best time to buy a car is the 89th day that its at the lot, Invoice is a not real. ask your dealer what there holdback it. t=you orobally wont get a true answer. the 90th day it starts to lose money, well not really it just the day they start paying interest on thier floorplan. If you got your roush mustang invoice or even a few bucks lower ,the dealers salesperson is a very happy person. common sense tells you you dont sell anything for a loss.

this thread was about preordering a 2010 , I highly dought this is possible, altho a dealership will probably gladly take your money, heck i will to :c)

can't order anything that isn't in existence because its illegal. Several Chevy and Dodge dealers were taking "deposits" on the Challenger and Camaro several months ago before the cars were even in production, they were all contacted by the Manufacturers and their local District Attorney, its a no no and all contracts were riped and refunds were given.

I'm not saying that I want to put a deposit down on one tomorrow. I'm just wondering at what stage in development do they open up their books for orders?

Once Ford starts their ordering process and prices are set for the 2010, Roush will then have to set their own prices and packages.

Ford will likely begin taking orders around the 1st of the year for spring production on the Mustang.

Roush will likely follow later in the spring, as they will have to have cars on hand to actually finalize their packages and prices. With the new redesign there will likely be a 3-6 month lead time from Mustang production and the Ford plant, until Roush has their program going.

When the 2005 Mustang came out, it was quite a while before Roush versions were available. The supercharged ones took about a year to come out, starting with the 2006 MY.

2010 Ford Mustang ordering

Ford will open its order bank for 2010 Mustang's on 11/23/08 and Job #1 is set to start 02/02/09. Of course, Ford reserves the right to alter these dates, but this is the latest info. Roush ordering will likely start around the same time. Feel free to email or pm with any questions. Hope this info helps everyone!
