Drag racing the 2010 540 Hammer

Forgive me if I have posted this question in the wrong place. I have drag raced Mopars( yea I know) since 1968-2002 and I would like to go back to the days of driving the car to the track, changing tires, opening the headers and have some fun. I have decided the 540Rh in Kona blue is the car for me to buy. Just the basic options, adding American long tube headers and a complete JDM tune. Also whatever suspension changes (IRS stuff is new to me. I'm use to leaf springs or coilovers) Don't all you road racing guys get upset, but these cars are set-up suspension, tires etc for that purpose. What about suspension changes for straight line racing.
Has anyone changed the wheel tire combo to something more along the lines of say a stock/superstock car look? Something like the new Cobra Jet. I think a 540 hammer would look mean as hell dressed like a superstocker. I appreciate any help, ideas or links.

    Thanks,

    TC

P.S. The picture is of my last creation. sold 2002 now it's MUSTANGS. If not allowed I apologize and feel free to remove. I know what I'm doing just need the right direction

no apologies needed, most of us here have an interest in anything with a motor. I have had an affliction for Pontiacs way before I got into Mustangs.

Roush made drag pack cars a year or 2 ago. I can post the parts list and maybe you can emulate that.

You would be surprised the reaction you will get if you post more pics of your past and present rides and they don't have to be Mustangs.

Drag racing. Because football, baseball, basketball, and soccer only require one ball.

I to grew up on Mopars and loved them all, '67' Dart with the 273 Hi-Po motor, '63' Plymouth wagon with a 413. That 540 Hammer motor is great stock, leaves a lot of room for impovement. In stock form they are said to run 11.8 in the 1/4 and early dyno tests show 500-508 rwhp.

Hey Rocket I'll try to look them up also.

Dave I raced 1963 aluminum front end car for 10 years then switched to the 64 aluminum and Hemi car. My dad had a 67 dart 273 HiPo. fastest car in our small town.

    Thanks,

    TC

Dave that dart brings back memories. Our's was green with a black top. I really like the looks of the 07 better than the 2010's. Love the color.

Thanks Rocket. I was looking at the Roush parts and it looks like everything can be purchased and put on.

beerforme my first new car was a 68 Coronet R/T 440 car. Ordered it thru the PX when I was in. I can relate to the $$$$$$$ as the 64 in the picture had a 604 cubic inch superstock motor. Ran in outlaw superstock.
