    Paul Miller Ford announces new Coach Cal Edition 2010 Roush 427R Mustang

    If you're in Kentucky this probably makes sense...................

    LEXINGTON, Ky. – It's not so much a mid-life crisis as it is a March Madness diversion. With the post-season about to begin, Kentucky coach John Calipari will soon be seen cruising around town in a ROUSH® 2010 Mustang.

    The new “Coach Cal Edition 2010 Roush 427R Mustang” is exclusively designed and released by Paul Miller Ford, Lexington, Kentucky's Largest Ford Dealership.

    “J.P. Miller asked if I wanted to drive a Mustang for a while,” said Coach Cal. “I said, “J.P., it's a Mustang! How could I not want to drive it? It's a really great car.”

    The Coach Cal car is powered by the ROUSHcharger® which boosts the Mustang's horsepower to 435 and offers 400 lb.-ft. of torque. The beautiful custom paint job reveals a jet black body, with University of Kentucky True Blue striping up the front fascia, stylishly split up by a sleek metallic silver outline.

    “The inspiration for the outer appearance and the color scheme came from a Bill Keightley jersey that was given to me last year,” said Vice President/General Manager J.P. Miller. “It just seemed to be the perfect fit for this project.”

    “It's a great car,” said Coach Cal. “Really an unbelievable ride. “Brad's wanting me to keep it until he gets his license in four years!”

    Coach Cal wouldn't say how long he'll be driving the Roush Mustang, but he did seem to be enjoying it quite a bit on his first test-drive. In addition to Coach Cal's, five more of the special model are being built and are available for pre-order now at Paul Miller Ford. Go to www.paulmilleronline.com for more info and photos. Also visit www.CoachCal.com for video and photos with Coach in the Mustang.

    The Coach Cal Mustang follows on the success of the exclusive 2009 Rich Brooks Edition F-150 Crew Cab Truck that hit the Paul Miler showroom in January of 2009.

    “With (all the) positive and exciting news Ford Motor Company has received lately, coupled with the excitement of Coach Cal's first season at UK, we feel this is just another thing for the Commonwealth to be excited about,” Mr. Miller said.
    What else is in Coach Cal's car?

    This Coach Cal Edition Mustang includes an appearance package comprised of several components including:

    * new front fascia and front splitter
    * rear fascia
    * side splitters
    * three-piece rear wing.
    * Custom blue and black suede seating accents
    * Coach Cal autograph on car

    The Coach Cal edition Roush Mustang rides on 20-inch cast chrome wheels with high-performance Cooper Zeon tires. Cooper has designed these tires with an asymmetric tread and special racing compound that delivers a high dry grip.

    I noticed that nobody mentioned the price, just north of $71k for a 427R and just south of $40k for a "Coach Cal" edition GT.

    Anybody that pays these prices must REALLY like UK (and may have been dropped on their head as a child)

    Yep, there are UK lovers who'll pay the price. I stopped in at Paul Miller, the other day, and asked about the cars. They had one in the body shop being prepared; but, we didn't get to see it. I'm not real fond of the paint scheme; but, some obviously like it. I did notice the lot at Paul Miller was void of the inventory I'm used to seeing. I didn't see any Shelby's and only two Roush's. In fact, there were only a couple of GT's. I guess they're holding the volume down until the economy picks up or had them hidden somewhere else.
