try a good fluid flush and fill. make sure you drain the TC too. make sure you are running mercon V in it....nothing else. reassess the issues then.
are you running a separate trans cooler? if not, its almost a requirement. heat is the worst enemy.
sometimes a bad TC can seem like a major trans issue
