i had my mechanic take a look and see if the pads were wearing funny or anything while he had it there to change the oil. He said the pads looked fairly new. Only thing he noticed is that it didn't have shims. He said he didn't know anything about these brake kit and didn't know if it wasn't suppose to have them or not. Could this be it?

Also I was thinking...in the trunk when I bought it there were 2 boxes of racing brake pads. What if there were racing composite pads on it now..would this maybe cause it? If so, how can i tell?
