No the head ticking was a TSB issue, There is a separate head cooling mod where in stock form there is no water flow thru the passenger side head causing the back cylinders of the head to run hot and many bad things to happen. The head cooling mod is just drilling and tapping the freeze plug on the backside of the head and running a cooling line from it to the other head so there is constant flow of water thru the heads keeping them cool. Best time to do this is next time you replace the clutch, makes it easier to access the back of the head without dropping the motor out.
