Not so rare any more!
Maier Racing is going to mold the hood. It should be done in a couple of weeks, then they will come up with pricing and any one will be able to get a hood. I will take pics and compare the two hoods as soon as I get them back. You will never have to worry about crashing and destroying a unobtainable hood. Richmo43 sent me a PM asking about the hood and gave me a good idea. This hood could be modified to work like a Cervini's style ram air setup, funneling air from the cowl down to a modified air filter housing. If there is enough demand from the 96-98 Roush owners, they might make a new inner piece to do that. I also mentioned that there are a lot of other unavailable Roush pieces, like the front and rear vallence pieces. Maier said that they probably won't do urethane, but they might consider making fiberglass pieces. So there is good news for owners of older Roush Mustangs.

Here is a picture of the Cervini's ram air system:
![]() You can see that all of the air is funneled to a modified air filter housing. The Roush hood uses the inner structure of the hood as the duct that feeds the air box of the Roush intake manifold. My idea is to add an oval recess to the hood structure that will line up with a Cervini's style modified air box. People with a 94-98 Mustang with the stock air intake would be able to block off the origional air box opening, cut out the center of the oval, add a gasket and modify their air box to make it functional cowl induction. I have sent an email to Maier, and I will go out and create some templates to mark the proper location of the recess. I think the functional cowl induction for non Roush intakes will probably be a DIY modification, I don't think Maier would make the piece for the air box unless there was a lot of demand. The recess would not be that hard, it would not require additional molds and it may give the hood a bigger market to sell to. If you have a 94-98 mustang with a stock type intake and you would like a functional cowl induction hood, please post below, or send me a PM. If there is enough interest, we can probably make it happen.

The cowl is a high pressure area and the air has not gone through your radiator, so it is essentially a cold air intake with a ram effect.

how will they duplicate the cowl piece(rear vents)????......im definantly intrested though...if it doesnt look cheap...in other words like a mold..i.e. the cowl piece is molded also.............also intrested in a new rear valance if the hood is molded sucessfully........
