Got the Parts car home!couple questions:
Well, The folks got home from Florida last night, after having tranny problems with the Powerstroke, delays, yada yada, but it's here! I had to babysit the farm for the last two weeks, so along with running my electric motor shop, And working on my 70 Chevelle, and doing chores, I've been slightly tired!
Anyway, the car is here, and I didn't spend much time looking at it, since it was raining, but here's what I found out: It's a 98 Cobra Convertible, a deep red, more burgundy I guess, smacked hard in the front, but it runs great and all that. Here's what it's got: Roush Rear valance, Side skirts, and side exhaust LiRoush on the windshield and back window, they look like correct, older ones. A 90' Elbow on the end of the MAF under the hood, kicks the filter out the fender, says Roush on it, but the intake tube going from the MAF to the Intake is stock Cobra. Black "Roush Performance" floor mats and a Cobra Emblem on the tool kit. There is no Roush stickers anywhere that I saw under the hood or on the doorjams, the suspension is stock Cobra, Cobra SVT wheels, black leather interior, all stock inside. So, I'm thinking there are two possibilities, either A: this is a 98 Stage 1 Cobra Convertible, or B:it's a 98 Cobra that someone did a pretty good job of converting to look like a Roush. In any case, it has a destruction title, so it can't be fixed, but I just wanted to know if anyone wrecked a real Roush down in Florida, it was licensed til November 06, so probably last fall. The 4.6 is going to be installed in a certain Baby Blue 1978 Ford Fairmont, along with the 5 speed, 8.8 Rear end, and wheels and tires....definitely not a weekend project! but it will be worth it in the end. The Roush rear valance will be repainted and put on my parents 97 Cobra stage 2, along with the Styling bar that's in it, my mom likes the way they look with the top down, and I'm thinking they should put the Roush cold air piece on it too, as long as they're at it. The other Roush pieces will be saved along with all the NIB stuff they have, for the time being anyway, because they still want to get a 96-98 Cobra convertible to drive, and put the Roush sides and exhaust on anyway. So, there may be a few leftover parts, a GREAT black top, rear seat, etc that will be for sale, but it will be late summer before we figure out what we're gonna keep and sell, but you're welcome to ask, and I can put your name down for parts. I'm wondering about the tool kit, it's empty, someone took all the tools out, but I thought I heard that some Cobra's had a trunk mount tool kit, the box looks identical to the Roush kit in the 97, but it has a Cobra emblem set in it vs. the Roush Emblem, so I don't know, if that was a stock piece, or an option from Ford for the Cobra's. Which one would be better to have in the 97, the Cobra one, or the Roush badged one? All the tools look like they'd be identical, but I guess I've never seen a Cobra one. Well, sorry to be so long winded, but it's pretty cool! If it IS a Roush, it would be sad that someone wrecked it, and I'd love to fix it if it was, just because, but we'll have to wait and see. If it's NOT, that's even better, because I'm gonna have a great Fairmont in a few months! haha anyway, thanks for reading, thanks for the help! Justin

Yeah, my parents didn't have a digital camera, so I gave my mom a crash course on it, and sent it with them. I could've used it while I was working on my Chevelle, but I'll take some now that they're back.
I know they had to buy a new center console trim as well, black, for their Cobra, so they may not need it. I'll let you know! I'll snap some pics tonight, maybe someone down in that area will recognize the car. Poor Cobra! ![]()
