Just a heads up---parts for sale.
Ok, I talked to my folks yesterday, they're not going to worry about finding another Cobra Convertible at the moment anyway (they wanted to make a clone to their white 97 Stage 2 for a driver) but they have other things they want to do, like his 29 Chevy, and a 63 Falcon V8 convertible. Anyway, he told me to check and see what people are interested in.
They bought a wrecked 98 Stage 1 Cobra last spring, for the bodykit. I'm pulling the drivetrain for my Fairmont, but there are LOTS of good pieces on this car. I think the taillights may be spoken for (I was supposed to take pics and never did) but the rest of the car is game, if the price is right. I don't know what all of this stuff is worth exactly, and I'm too busy to try to find fair values on every nut and bolt, but we're reasonable, not out to soak anyone. Basically, I'll post the pics I have of the car, and you can ask me what you need. ALSO--They are willing to sell some of the Roush pieces they have--they bought a full bodykit, but it has the Wings West rear valance with no exhaust cut-outs instead of the Roush version. That could be split up, as I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to get rid of the pieces. Front valances, sides, (one new pair, one painted pair from the 98) rear spoiler, empty tool box that was new last year (We took the Cobra box out of the 98 and put it in the 97 instead of the Roush badged one) Possibly the exhaust with tips--*maybe*. Well, here's a couple pics, you can message me here, or crexrun@yahoo.com, I check that often. I can make a for sale post if you'd like me to I suppose, but I don't know what I'd list, and I don't have any prices, so mods, if you want me to make one, or move this, lemme know. Thanks, Justin ![]() ![]()

Ok, I've already gotten lots of emails about parts, I should have mentioned, the Interior is black, pretty much all there. The car was in excellent shape before the accident. I guess the only fair way to do this is first come, first served, a few of you have already spoken for items, I'm just going to make a list with your name on it, and take pics of what you're interested in, and we'll take it from there. I'm willing to pull anything at all you need, but I can't guarantee the time, it may be a week or so before I can get freed up at my shop to get to the car. Thanks again, Justin

Ok. I got pics, but haven't found time to get them uploaded to photoshop, but I'll try to this afternoon. Lots and LOTS of little pieces on this car, It was in really nice shape before crash-go-boom. Even if you need a little trim cover, or some interior screws or whatever, I'd love to see this stuff be put to good use. I took some general pics, I think they should look ok, so you guys can let me know. Thanks, Justin

Hood and Convertible Top?
I'm just in the process of possibly buying a 1996 (Trying to confirm what's really under the hood before I drive a couple hours to look at the car) - and if I get it, I might be interested in your hood (if undamaged) and the convertible top (although I know I could also consider just any GT conv top too).
PM me if either would be available and what you would want for them (ship to NYC area zip 10901). Thanks! Tom C. |

Actually, I already got my answer back on the 96 I was looking at. Owner claimed it was supposed to have Roush mods to take it up to 300HP, but I showed him pics of where the SC should be and it doesn't have one. So, no sale, no need for the parts (yet - maybe someday though)

Never noticed that spot on the toolbox, I never really wiped it off or anything, just grabbed the stuff and took pics. The taillights are very nice, I can't recall a scratch on them. Decklid, spoiler, convertible top, rear seat, all interior trip, trunk liner, all in excellent shape. Power mirrors work great, and like I said, lots of misc. stuff, no parts to small, I just want it to go to use! Justin

The Toolbox was brand new when we got it last year, it was full of tools, minus the flashlight, and we paid around $350 I think, and when we got the 98, it had an empty Cobra tool box (Albeit in not as nice of shape as this one) but we thought it matched the car better, so we swapped tools, and this one was basically in for about a year. Never had anything in the trunk, so no scuffs. IIRC, it closes perfectly, no gaps at all. I'll check tomorrow, and report back asap.
I'll PM you with prices. Thanks, Justin

No tools in the toolbox, but they're still available. Asking $150 for the box, it's perfect, the small spot on it is a mark in the plastic, and it looks better in person. It shuts evenly as well, one side shuts completely tight, the other side is perhaps 1/8" gap or less. The Cobra box we swapped it out for has much bigger gaps, and still looks great.
