97 roush stage 2 specs and #s?

I just purchased a 97 stage 2. It only had 3,700 miles on it and is in perfect condition. I was wondering if any one could tell me the ratings on it because I have been having trouble finding them.

Should be similar to a GT. Roush doesn't do much as far as hp in anything but a S3.

yeah, i would imagine, that the 1/4 mile time might be a little better, due to the exhaust and suspension mods (the car doesn't "squat" at start and such), and the HP and Trq would be slightly better, but not that much, but that's just IMO

the side exhaust would give you probably around 5 hp over stock...so that would be up to 215 hp at the crank and around 180-190 at the wheels i guess...not the greatest #'s in our 96-98 years...your car is screaming for a headswap or blower or both to keep up with that cobra

Oh Oh! I saw a '96-'98 in town the other day! I was sitting at a stop light and low an behold a white convertible with tan top, full Roush package goes rolling by...as he does he notices my car and slows way down staring hard...so I started to roll down my window to try to meet up somewhere and B.S. but he didn't see and had traffic behind him. I almost flipped a bitch to catch him but didn't need a ticket

without a head swap to GT40 or 99+ heads it is/was very hard to increase HP on those things...even a blower won't help much unless you change the heads....big hint...think new heads and have fun!!!!

you can also get PI cams and valves ONLY - that gives you the power increase in 2k-5.5k RPM, and much cheaper, cuz you save on intake and heads themselve - i'd say twice cheaper...but i haven't gotten all the info on that yet.

uhh the only heads for our cars are the PI and ford racing heads....no GT40 heads...and you strap a blower on and it will definitly help...i went from a 189 rwhp with most of the mods in my sig to a good 320-325 with nothing more than a Procharger P-1sc and 12 lbs of boost still with the anemic stock heads...so i mean if you wouldnt want to do a head swap there is hope but if i were you i would definitly tackle the headswap first

Cool

roush97
- thanks for the corrections.

I didn't want to sound heavy handed but that post would confuse someone without any real knowledge of the 96-98 modulars.

Are 96-98 Roush Mustangs numbered? If so where can I find the number or serial number?

One of the guys at Roush said your particular cars I.D. can be found in the engine bay or the door sill where I found mine.
