I got them from a private aseller off ebay. I dont know for sure, but I think they look great. The only bad thing about them is that (If you can tell) the RPM goes to 7 not 8 like the stock ones do, so you have to compensate for that. not all are this screwed up, just these ones. Thanks for the complements. I dont know about the Roush ones, but I didnt even want to think about spending 100+ on them, I got these for about 30 shipped.

Sweet....30 bucks.... awesome deal..... You know what you could do....go to a place that makes signs and decals....and get a roush sticker made just big enough to put on the gauges....

Save yourself the extra 70+....

and deathvark....did you go with all roush parts for the gears and pullies?

i have Roush UD pulleys and Roush Timing Adjuster sitting on my desk right now - they were supposed to be installed today, but i got sick : fever and stuff, so this is gonna be postponed till next week. My performance valve body will be installed {hopefully} next week also and the gears {if i haven't been scammed again} suppose to come this week also, to get installed next week.
I went with Ford racing 4.10s for 135.00 shipped + was quoted 189.00 for install (that includes everything - fluid, bearings, crush sleeve etc)
so hopefully in two weeks i'm back on the track !!!!

i dunno - everybody likes 4.10...plus for the next 2 years my car will stay N/A, so i want to get maximum of the gears... i've read a lot of reviews from people, who got 4.10 and then had a ride in a car with 3.73 or vice versa- 95% prefer 4.10
no, 189.00 without recal...i'm gonna get speedo calibrator from Steeda for 15 bucks...i will need only that , right ?
what exactly, speedo recal includes ? just install that speedometer gear , and i'm done ? it is done to raise the speed governor ? or just to make sure the speedo shows correct ?

I believe that it is just to make sure that it reads correct. I have never had gears done so maybe someone who has can chime in and give a better hint.

I've got a 98 GT, and been wanting to put in 4.10's for a month or three now. I've researched my butt off about it too (Over at Stangnet and The Corral) .. and STILL have questions.

I'm not positive that $25 Steeda part will do it though DV, if its the plastic toothed "calibrator" I read somewhere that only works on older model Mustangs. After a certain year, again I was told - so don't know for sure, they made all the speedometer settings run via the computer and I heard that'll take either a "Speedcal" http://www.dallasmustang.com/speedcal_about.htm
or a new chip ( www.fordchip.com is where most people try and send me).

I personally was going to go with the "Speecal" thing just because I want to up my tires to 18" and it corrects for that as well (*If* I can find a good deal on a set of Roush 18"s, they still want $400 a piece for them, and I can't scrap togther that kind of cash for cosmetics).

Anyway .. I need to head to work , so I hope I didn't just confuse or baffle or create MORE anxiety about gears in anyone with my babbling.

BTW - gefracing.com has Ford's FRPP gears for $139.95 - and they're Ford .. so .. no Ebay-aftermarket-chintsy stuff ... ALL Ford chintsy-stuff.

nahh, the part we need is 15.99 from Steeda and it will work on our Stangs. Newer model 99+ they require the part + computer calibration, we don't - that's what i heard, but i'll talk to Steeda about that - i live 15 min from them

Yeah please let us know whatcha' find out. I'd hate to blow all the money on Gears, Install, AND a chip/Speedcal if I don't need one.

well, i talked to Steeda rep today, he assured me, that for pre-99 stang the only thing we need is that
speedometer recalibration gear

but for 4.10 he said it might not help, he recommends shop in-line reducer.
as always, new cusom burned chip, can help as well - you will need it anyway to raise the speed governor, with new 4.10 it won't let you go more than 102-105 mph.
i'm gonna post a thread on corral or stangnet about that or maybe try search ?
i wonder how much that "shop recal" would run ?
